The inner tip which is the proper color is the one with the valve. If that were the reason wouldn't the inside one fade from heat and the outer one look brand new? Not reverse.Looks normal to me. Remember in track mode, basically all exhaust is exiting thru the inner tubes, since the valves are 100% open all the time.
I agree they look cheap, really don't want to drop $1400 for 2 mufflers though. That's a bit ridiculous.I was so disappointed in the cheap look of the Ford exhaust that I upgraded the mufflers to the Borla Type S with the black tips. Corvette, Charger, Challenger, Camaro etc all have rolled tips that make the Mustang’s look really cheap and flimsy.
It’s actually a lot ridiculous, but it is the only mod worth any money I put on the car and when I turn it in hopefully I can get back $500 or so. So in my self-justified way of thinking, I’ll only have paid $700 (I got them on a good deal from CJ’s).I agree they look cheap, really don't want to drop $1400 for 2 mufflers though. That's a bit ridiculous.
I say paint with black exhaust paint. If not...i bet a good muffler shop could put some nice tips on there. I wouldnt remove the factory active mufflers.Exhaust tips are changing color. Driver side outer tip is the worst of them all. 4k miles and driven mostly with track exhaust selected.
Can't decide if I should take it to the dealer or just paint them with header paint.
You're absolutely correct about that. I looked for tips shaped exactly the same, but rolled, like the GT350 ones. But they wouldn't fit even with the lower brackets cut. So will leave it alone. It's not like the rest of the car is of Bentley quality anyway. Ha ha.Corvette, Charger, Challenger, Camaro etc all have rolled tips that make the Mustang’s look really cheap and flimsy.
It's because of the soot. That's why I said it looks normal. Clean up all 4 tips on the inside, and post results . Keep in mind they're not even tips; they're just the freaking muffler tubes, so can't expect anything more than they are.The inner tip which is the proper color is the one with the valve.
I agree with you and I am looking for black chrome tips and cut the crappy ones off. Before the valveI agree they look cheap, really don't want to drop $1400 for 2 mufflers though. That's a bit ridiculous.
