Just wondering if anyone on here has used TrueCar for the purchase of their 2015. I just messed around with it and it gave me my custom order for a black 2015 Premium GT, manual, with Recaros for $35.5, which is almost 3k off of MSRP. I haven't followed through with it yet since I haven't sold my current car but wanted to see if anyone else has had any luck?

I used True Car for my daughter's Subaru Impreza---that helped. I am not sure it helped much with my soon to arrive Mustang. I got $1000 off from the dealer

I went through USAA which has the Truecar buying service. Configured I got the discount below, and didn't have any problems at any dealership. I also used the 500 black Friday, and the 750 Loyalty cash, and 100 coupon from previous Autonation purchase
Estimated
Savings off MSRP

$2,839

TrueCar Estimate

$40,251

I tried going through USAA, but when I initially ordered they didn't have their configurator up yet for 2015's. So I'm just paying MSRP.

Why not xplan? Isn't it about the same savings less the hassle?

Not many dealers take it.

Really? I live in Southern NJ and I called my local dealer to ask if I could order a car with Xplan. The salesman asked the manager and we're good to go! First dealer I asked too... Might depend on location. I don't think many 15's are selling now that winter is approaching.

I haven't seen a dealer that doesn't take X-plan??

I used USAA car buying service as well, but also qualify for X-plan. It gave me three dealers to choose from, one with a price just barley above X-plan and the other to said "contact dealer for price." Decided to use the service but also X-plan, that way I'll get the lower interest rate USAA offers for using the car buying service....win win!

I used the TrueCar price as a high starting point, as there are quite a few dealers who support it in the Houston area. One thing I noticed was the USAA configuring tool didn't seem to give me an option for an automatic - wasn't an issue when I decided to go with a manual, but might create problems for others. Also, the TrueCar price is guaranteed for cars the dealer has in stock, though I ordered mine and still got a similar discount. I was about $3k under MSRP, depending on how you account for a couple of free/discounted add-ons.

It didn't give you an option for an automatic because that's not available with the GT Performance Pack.

I'm paying $43,190. USAA has it for $40,553 -- but, again, when I was ordering back in June USAA didn't have it available as a car to buy.

Anyone in the Seattle area getting a quote from TrueCar will end up being directed to my dealership. TrueCar pricing on a typical '15 GT is roughly $2K below MSRP, depending on optional equipment selected. We've also done a few X-plan and Costco deals on '15 Mustangs already, as well. The '15 Mustang is not some limited edition car; good pricing is out there for those who look past the first dealer they talk to.

Thanks for the help Brian. After doing a little more research on here, it seems like X-plan + EAA 750 coupon + 500 incentive is the best way to go. I just need to figure out how to obtain the 750 and 500 part haha
