Anybody using Ford Pass...?

Is it possible to turn off telemetry to ford or just data sharing. Historic data could really fuck you. A subpoena for it could reveal data that might invalidate your insurance policy if you ever get in a big accident. Say you do a track day and they say they won’t cover any car used on a racing surface. Months later you run into a crowd showing off at cars and coffee. They see that track day and suddenly you have no insurance. I know similar crap has happened to people who uber on non commercial insurance.

How does Fordpass work on the pre-2019 cars if they do not have the modem hardware? Or does it upload via the App on your phone when it connects to the car?

I don't have Fordpass but I am just curious.

I have it on my 2016 F150. Yes, all upload of car's info is through the App on your phone. So you have to have your phone connected through the bluetooth, and it updates sporadically, not instantly.
