The economy has crumbled because Trump had to shut the economy down to save lives and your life as a matter of fact. The economy will bounce back stronger then you think. All these Americans holed up in their houses will be eager to work and spend money. You have money because Trump and Congress passed bills giving you the majority of your pay via unemployment, a job to go back to when this is over and stimulus money for you to have why not working.
Making the business loans a grant if retaining its employees with no penalty was genius.

Your comparing European countries to the USA, most them have the population of one State in the USA. If you think of European countries so highly pack your bags up and move to Europe no one is stopping you. The grass isn’t always greener.

I lived in Europe for many years and know it very well. Some of it is a disaster, but simple fact is that for people living there, as of now, economic fall out is much much smaller than here. That's a fact and not an opinion. Again, as of yesterday, 1 in 10 Americans is without a job, weeks after we claimed lowest unemployment in history. China's economy wasn't that much smaller (if it was at all) and country has larger population. They're not anywhere remotely close to how bad we are and given the rumors their covid impact was underreported, they should be even worse, shouldn't they ?

But now they're the ones making tons of money, all shipments are going from China to elsewhere...
(I am very much in touch with worldwide airline traffic since that's what I do for living).

Imagine 'essential' workers were paid as if they were 'essential'

Imagine for a second we didn't give tax breaks to billion-dollar corporations if we enforced tax laws, closed loopholes and put in place ways to deal with inherited/generational wealth

Imagine if the stimulus packages that congress was throwing at wall street went to the average citizen who we all now know fuels the economy if we did that we wouldn't be seeing the wide-scale economic collapse that we are right now. It's hilarious to me that people who can barely afford to put 10$ a month away in savings are essentially being told they should have saved four months worth of rent/bills for these kinds of situations - but the people with billions are having their crocodile tears dried with 100$ bills by the gov't who is supposed to be protecting the middle and lower class from this exact circumstance.

It sounds to me like big corporations and Trump need to pull themselves up by their bootstraps. Handouts will only encourage them to be lazy and reliant on gov't. They just need to work harder! /sarcasm for all you fiscal responsibly panders who are completely disingenuous.

Yes, Captain Crozier did what any good leader should do and put his men's safety and mission readiness before anything else including his own career.



Apparently, it wasn't just me considering Captain Crozier got the greatest send-off I have ever seen a Navy officer get. Also, disgraced former Sec of the Navy Modly resigned.



I didn't say he was kicked out, I said he was relieved of duty. Let's not twist my words here.

Turns out no one thought Modly's actions were justified. He would then travel nearly 8000 miles to Guam to berate thousands of sailors, the same sailors that Captain Crozier saved and who gave Crozier one HELL of a send off, later saying he stood 'by every word,' and then subsequently apologizing for the remarks less than a day later. The entire process by Modly was spineless and shameful. I'm glad the clown stepped down, opens the door for less toxic leadership.

I will say the Navy Secretary’s actions flying to Guam was uncalled for and needs serious attentions. But his relieving the Captain for what he did was justified. Doesn’t matter if his sailors agreed with him or not. Their is a reason for chain of command, undermining your superior (as you should know) is not tolerated, you could be court martial for such things. I can almost guarantee you if an enlisted man went over his superior you would be standing front and center in front of his superior. Chain of command is the basis of how the military works and every soldier knows this from day one in boot camp. Break it and pay the price.

And, btw - in addition to US passport I also have EU one (from one of EU countries to be specific) so I don't think you should be telling me about what's going on in Europe... I am on average 6 times year there and work with my company's EU part daily....

NY has more deaths because the Governor and Mayor were idiots, didn’t take the federal governments warning seriously and responded to late with emergency actions plans.The same with the Governor/Mayor of New Orleans for Mardi Gras, the Governor/Mayor of Florida for opening beaches for Spring Break, or any other mayor/governor of any state that did not issue emergency actions that had significant cases. It also doesn’t help once issued you had citizens doing whatever the hell they felt like doing anyway. So don’t be putting it on the President, put it on your State and local representatives for not acting once warned.

To be honest I give two shits about Europe (maybe Britain a little) or any other country except the USA. Need to look out for #1 and stop worrying about giving all our money to other countries making their economies and military stronger.

None of you are experts, none of you have the facts. Only the people in the “know” or need to know have the facts. What citizens have are what the media outlets want us to know. You have one big media outlet that leans Republican and then at least 5 big media outlets that are pro Democrat.. Now you may be offering your view but your basing it on whichever media outlet you watch or lean towards, Fact is it’s the media outlets point of view, written and reported the way they want you to receive it, then it is up to you to believe there point of view or not. You can watch 3 different media outlets on the same exact story that will have words twisted, deleted or re-worded to make it sound however they want it to. That’s a fact.

I'm not in love with Trump demeanor sometimes, but I am a fan of his policies, passion as well as his respect for law enforcement and those who sacrifice themselves for a living for us.
If I see people getting what he helped put together to help during this, it would be monumental. He couldn't sign it fast enough for us. Within hours it was done.
I think the only thing we ever did quicker was respond to pearl harbor, Or 9-11.
He shut the travel with china while Nancy was on TV telling everyone to go to Chinatown for dinner.
People have to understand that pandemics do not need the assistance of pandemonium to exacerbate the whole scenario which is why information comes slower than people may prefer..

Love him or hate him, Trump appears to have done a stellar job with this. A long time ago I learned a very important lesson that everyone has heard but is largely ignored because of political allegiance. Focus on what people do and why they do it rather than what they say, how they say it, and what others say of it.
