I've been thinking about going with the Ford Racing Lowering Street Spring set (M-5300-X). It supposedly lowers the car approximately 1" in the front and 1" in the rear. My question is what affect does it have on front end clearance? I always see the 1" drop presented in terms of the gap between the fender and the tire. I assume a 1" drop over the front wheels translates into an equivalent drop of the front end spoiler. Right now, I have no issues with speed bumps, driveways, etc.

The nose of this car from the front wheels forward is rather long. After this spring upgrade, am I suddenly going to be having issues with the spoiler scraping on things?

Those who've done this or similar 1" drop spring upgrade, please chime in.

I have similar questions about lowered cars.

Our Australian Mustangs don't come until the end of the year so I can't even measure a standard one.

I've asked before and one of our members kindly measured his PP GT with Steeda's 1" drop springs and found the front lip was 158mm from the ground. I'd appreciate if someone else could confirm their's is the same.

Also, how far does the front lip protrude? Could some one measure on the ground from central tyre contact to the point directly under the leading edge of the front lip?

Many thanks.

It does drop it, but to me it's not enough to make a difference in my daily habits. I would never try to clear a parking curb or pull close up to a sidewalk anyway...

My driveway/incline caution has not had to increase (I haven't rubbed the hidden lip yet). I still go over speed bumps and speed tables at the same speed, too. I'm lowered on Eibach Pro-Kit Springs and they should be about the same for the Ford springs.
