I just found this on the floor under the clutch pedal. Of course things can get kicked around so not sure where it fell from. It has a slot to turn it which looks like would release it from whatever it goes into.

Looks like a job for a trouble light and a mirror, to see if there is a hole somewhere under the dash that it fits into, unless, of course, you're a contortionist and enjoy being upside down in the car.

Looks like a piece to hold a plastic/cardboard panel in place.

That's the piece that holds the front and back of the car together. It's totally unsafe now, better part it out. What kind of bolt-ons you got?

That's the cap for the blinker fluid fill line located to the right of the steering shaft.

Those hold the carpet down in certain places

Mine keeps coming off as well...it holds the carpet to the body. Look under your clutch pedal and you will see a hole in the carpet where it goes

That plastic piece keeps the blinker fluid in the headlight. You see what happens without the plastic piece? If you run out of blinker fluid you have to buy a replacement headlight since it's integrated into the headlight.

Speaking of what is this, saw this female on the way to work this morning. I took a video and tried to get the best screen capture but it's still a little blurry:

I was at a Ford dealer to look at the Pony Package rear deck and showed someone in service this part. He immediately said he knew what it was and insisted on reinstalling it. He was sure it held a panel on the bottom of the dash. But there is no panel and he couldn't find anywhere else it went.

I don't think its just something to attach something to something else. Its fairly intricate on the inside and looks like something to support the end of some shaft. The way its shaped makes me think it slides onto the end of some shaft and then gets a slight turn to lock it into some panel.

The previous pictures don't indicate the size. The cap is ~1&1/8 inches diameter.

Doesn't appear to be.
Are you seriously still not sure?

It came from the drivers side floor board (as mine did). I moved my drivers seat all of the way back so my fat a$$ could get into the foot well and almost directly behind the gas pedal, where the carpet ends right up under the dash there is what I would say is a 1/2" hold in the carpet with a bolt sticking through...this cap goes onto that bolt then you twist 1/4" turn to the right to secure

Mine keeps coming off so i just tossed it into the console as it has nothing to do with functionality...

I appreciate the post. Sounds like a match but I just crawled under there and can't see or feel what you describe.
