Those wheels are the ones shown for 2018
They look different than the all black wheels you linked a few posts up. Note the silver on the edges of the wheels on this car.

Just a very early prototype, I suspect. It'll be testing something that doesn't require the new bodywork.

As usual, this creates more questions that answers :frusty:

Same wheels ... that silver edge is the flash of the camera

Looks to be a bigger rear sway bar. Base GT are 21.7mm and PP are 22.2mm. The one on this mule is 24mm.
GT350R Bar.

They aren't hiding the wheels. They are hiding the brakes. I think there's something the last generation Z/28 had that the Mustang still doesn't have, but may get soon.

That something was tested on the gt350R prototype and was deemed unnecessary.

I think the carbon wheels have proven to be a genius idea and much better decision than adding carbon ceramic brakes. I hope Ford ends up with carbon wheels being common on performance vehicles.

Pretty sure this is the same car I spent time in, and is just an early prototype. It would morph into a test bed for new parts, and doesnt mean itll be a new model...
