I know the 10R80 has been discussed in length, but I still feel something is not right with my car. I have had it for just over a year now and ever since getting it I feel the 10 speed is just not shifting right. It’s jerky, but that’s not what bothers me the most. It’s a sports car so I would expect that when in automatic and in sport + it would make some noise and shift down with some decent engine breaking when coming to a stop or driving spirited and you are about to corner. There are a few times it does, but for the most part it just rolls to a stop. I have taken the car in and it was slightly low on transmission fluid, but the technician didn’t find anything wrong with the car he said. I put it down to the adaptive learning, but at 7000km I find it is still not unproved. I also recently purchased Forscan and disabled the Adaptive learning and cleared the table. Today as I went for a drive I played with track vs sport + and felt in track it was slow and lazy to kick down when hitting the accelerator. Am I just being crazy ? Any suggestions or advice. I used to have a 2016 GT with the 6R80 and I felt in sport+ it had a wicked downshift and engine breaking sound.

Do you feel it is slow to shift or that it requires more than the expected amount of pedal down before it shifts?

Mine shifts like a beast. I’m not sure where you’re coming from. Once I get to Florida, Palm Beach Dyno is where I’m going.

Also for the engine braking I have to be braking harder than normal for it to kick on then it downshifts aggressively, especially down hills

Get a tune from Wengerd, his trans tuning is perfection. I have a 23 mach 1 with the 10R80 and now I love the trans in my car.

Well, I just started a thread a few hours ago about ta similar thing. I coast down hill on the twisties and, my A10 downshifts and goes bam bam bam all the way to second while revving like nuts. In sport mode. In normal mode it is mellow. But in sport, holy crap, revvvvvvv! Someone suggested using the manual paddles or getting a tune to smooth it out.

There is absolutely no question that Fords 10-speed tune is crap, even in the Mach.
Please stop messing around and tune it with Wengerd.
It’s not even close and you will love your car again.
I almost sold mine before I got his tune.
Seriously!

Is this a tune I can purchase online? I was debating the Steeda Mach 1 Tune actually. Care to share the link

I'm in a search for a Mach 1. I plan on the 10R80 due to knee injuries, but have been disheartened by some of the disappointing horror stories. The Wengerd tune gives me hope. It will be a non-winter, daily driver. I could probably get bywith a GT, but I really like the looks of the Mach one. I may even get the handling package, even though I will rarely , if ever, track it.
