I'm not much of a womanizer. If a woman wants me for my money or car, that ain't the one I want.

Ok, I’m also divorced. Been there and done that! No matter how you slice it, women cost money. And if you got a keeper you still have to compromise on your dreams and ambitions, and that also has a cost.

The women...

If you want a young one that is rich and you are 30 years older - we’ll good luck with that! Plus I’m fit and thin with all my hair, run a TV and movie production (just finished and premiered a feature length doco) house, record label that makes reality TV, Advertising company and more; and that is barely enough...
We get it, man. You're regretting not getting the V8. Just do it already.

If you think V8 envy is the thing watch rich guys brag and do the one-up manship with boats! As for cars thats a new Vette or Mustang EV. The V6 stays as it’s a perfect DD for me - even in the winter! Maybe even the Camaro EV. Al O is running that now and they have a 700 hp electric unit that connects to the current platform attachment points! So you can have EV and NA powertrains on the same platform using the existing trans.

Now that’s thinking in the box. I’ll hit that when it comes out!

This is actually funny as I was thinking about this. But the V8 is a 1969/1970 Boss 302 Mustang. This car even had the hood tachometer. While I was taking pics the dude who owned it was quite smitten with my new car and even hinted at a trade but I was too thick to notice that at the time. I deleted the photos of the car but driving around my hood was the thing parked in his driveway. We were both Mustang guys and the two of us had owned Mustangs for decades.

This is a garage queen but I also have a Buick Enclave I can drive in the interim. I was wondering why he would even consider something like that? He’s retired and maybe can’t get a new car and it’s getting around the time when you try something new, or close that door and ride things out stopping drives at night and then just trips to the corner store - like how it is with my dad.

So that is what was going through my mind after I lusted after a V8. That thing is all correct except for the wheels and tires. But yes, it has a proper hood tach! I’m also going to tell you I’m joining the local Corvette club. This is the way you can get a Corvette cheap. Most of these guys are well healed and when the new ones come out they know a guy who will take their old car giving them the excuse to get a new one - see how that works guys! I normally don’t recommend used but buying a Vette from a member in club usually gives you full disclosure, even if a sale isn’t in the horizon they talk about their cars so when the time comes you know all about that car! So that is what was going through my mind when I saw your post...

Oh yes: 0-60 in 6.9 seconds

Quarter: 14.6/98

Thanks. $28777 before tax and lic.
Great price. Did it come with any options at all? Do you have the Torsen or clutch pack limited slip? Are those 18" or 19" wheels? Mine has the 19" wheels, black. I like the size but wish they were a tad wider and the tires were another 1/2" outboard in the wheels wells. Do you have plans for upgrading the wheels and tires?

Congrats on the new car! Very nice looking, and a great price. I'm in the SD area as well, and there's a Mustang Club in the area that has a lot of great people and good info if you feel the need to ask questions.

100% base GT manual. ZERO options with the exception of ruby red metallic paint ($395). Has the 18" wheels. I already ordered 255/40/19s with 20lb Enkei wheels from Tirerack. Should have those installed this week and will sell the base wheels tires. Even with the wheels/tire upgrade I'm still under $31K.

Thanks for the info. If there's a link for the club, please PM me. If I join it then there will be a lot of great people plus one a$$hole!

Nice! Please post a picture of the car with the new wheels and tires. Curious as to the offset your choose to get a good stance- will the wheels be flush with the fenders versus being inset?.

Will do once installed. 35mm offset. I'm not that picky really. Just wanted the lightest wheel I could find in stock (20.75lb each) on a meatier tire that wasn't crazy expensive. I know they'll look better than the stock 18s/235s.

Best 28k you could have spent on a new car!
So agree. You could have spent 45-55K on a Premium, PP2 or Bullet but you pretty much get the same car (some will disagree).. This is a strategy I have done all my life- get a base car and add aftermarket to suit your requirements and needs- wheels and tires, suspension, exhaust, etc. I have done this with cars and trucks and end up with something nicer than even from the factory for much less cost. The one and only one disadvantage is at trade in time- you get what your cars is- base or premium or PP2. Most dealers and wholesalers give you a big fat 0 for aftermarket accessories and parts. I usually strip and go back to stock, sell the aftermarket parts. To me still better this way than to pay 45-55K for a Mustang.

Yeah it is pretty crazy how adding options today adds almost 20k to base car. I just added in (wanted) the PP1 up front due to aggressive discounting and knew I could not duplicate equal hardware for same $ aftermarket. Had 3 dealers within 120 miles with exact same unit. :).
