Picked it up on Sat. Base 6spd manual '19 Ruby red 5.0. Drove it 79 miles home on the freeway in the rain. So much for SoCal weather that night :) Still was varying up the rpms and switching between 6th and 5th on the freeway. After having a boosted '15 PP, I'm liking the taller gears and more controlled power and softer ride on this base one. I was constantly shifting and spinning tires in my '15.

I couldn't resist the discount I got on this thing, so I grabbed it. Love it so far. Hopefully no tick, engine BS or will be my Farewell Forever Ford Forever vehicle, lol. But it drives great so far. I really wanted to resist replacing the 18s on P Nero tires but do look kind of out of place on this car. But I'm probably going to cave and get some 20-21lb 19s/255/40/19 stickier tires (will be around a 25lb weight reduction too).

Here she is all wet.

Congrats on the new ride!

Ok, I get the SC Stang with the guaranteed wheel spin rear end was not the greatest DD. Anyway I can’t criticize cause I’m the guy who smashed up his first non-option base 5.0 after 3 months and then went and bought a fully loaded 5.0 to replace it. Just to get that bit of trivia out there as I’m no angel either and that was 30 years ago.

But...

Since you like a TV series I also liked, let me impart some advice to you and the others here. If you have not bought a house or other types of property then buy it now! Why do I say this? I say this because gear heads have a habit of flipping cars and after a while all you do is kill your financial situation for saving or investing in property that will hold you in good stead later on.

Good luck saving as most can’t, but even that does not keep pace with inflation. Investments? I consider that a scam because you are giving your money away to someone else on the hope you get it back later - good luck with that! You gave your money away and you get these cute statements telling you how wealthy you are until you want to cash out! And then the explanations begin.

So the house is the traditional nest egg. You can keep an eye on it as you live in it. So now you have a new car, I suggest you keep it for 18 years and pay off the house if you don’t have one already.

I bought my house for 175k in 1991 and now it’s worth 950k. Last summer washing my V6 Mustang (that I got for the price of an optioned Hyundai Elantra) a cute blond pulled up lowered the window - and instead of asking about the car - barked out 850! She was an agent and wanted to buy my house for 850,000 dollars sight unseen. I told her the now gutted home across the street went for 950k a month ago and she just drove off. That is where it’s at in the end guys.

Cars are nice, just don’t saddle yourself with so much debt that you can’t save, or save for a down payment on a house, etc. The years catch up and there is no starting over. I also have some companies that have equity and a pension. But I’m not counting those as many here won’t have that. But that house you can have in the end.

Also, if you are divorced like me all those women from your past will now come back and get clingy because they just live day to day maxing out their credit cards. And now they are getting older they are starting to panic. So if you’ve done things right you can even take care of your little harem in your golden years. You may be old but you still are looked up to.

Just a reality check to all you guys. Picking up knowledge unawares... Now back to the current discussion...

“Wow man what a sick ride!” When are you gonna start modding and replacing brand new parts with others as you pay financing for years on the parts you have replaced! Have fun - by the old fart killjoy...

Congrats Nomad! You made a great choice, hopefully you got it under 30K....which leaves you a lot of room to upgrade the wheels, tires, etc. The ride on the base GT is nice and smooth but still form enough to handle well.

Enjoy your new ride!

Wow nice lookin car. Ruby Red, Race Red and Black where my choices and I couldn’t decide until the wife said “I can’t picture you in anything other than a black car” so I went with that but I love Ruby Red and Race Red. This will be my 7th black vehicle do I quess she’s right.

PP cars get all the love here but No way for me. Every what should I buy thread has at least 10 guys saying you gotta get the .PP. I didn’t like the frequent shifts and the awful black wheels: I think the suspension is fine on the non PP cars but hey, we all like something different.

Enjoy

Agree 100%. Bought my condo 14yrs ago. I should have it paid offf in about 6yrs. 49, currently single, no kids (and won’t be having any).

I’m financing a small amount of the car but plan to pay if off within 12 mos.

Forget about the car for a minute - it’s the women man! I have a couple but the youngest is in her late 20s. So we were hanging out for awhile by the lake and I drive her home when she proposed - an idea for me to help her buy a condo! Yup, a condo! She didn’t do a proper job and I showed her how she should have done it. I might help her out as her owning property takes care of her in so many good ways given her personality. Another much older girlfriend will probably hit me up for monthly cash to stay in her apartment. I hope you guys see where this is headed and “me too” only means the blackmail continues - or else...

But I digress...

Anyway I may help her out in the end as Fatguy not only talks the talk, but he walks the walk. But yup - a condo - didn’t see that one coming! It’s amazing how these women know how to work a guy. The weak spot for every guy is the women in his life. Want to take a man down then investigate the women in his life...

Actually, after all that; go ahead and do what you want with the car. Nothing is more expensive than women...

Free healthcare in Canada so women rule. It is cool to get jealous looks from younger guys when the young one is in the car. Like I said before, if they scratch my car out of jealousy - I just fill it in with wax and smile every time I see it! That damage you don’t fix...

Must be nice. Healthcare here is like paying a second mortgage if something happens to you.

I'm not much of a womanizer. If a woman wants me for my money or car, that ain't the one I want.

You guys get it all wrong. Find a rich girl not a poor one.

If you want a young one that is rich and you are 30 years older - we’ll good luck with that! Plus I’m fit and thin with all my hair, run a TV and movie production (just finished and premiered a feature length doco) house, record label that makes reality TV, Advertising company and more; and that is barely enough...
