How long does it take for your A/C to get cold after sitting parked in the hot sun all day?
I work in a downtown area. I crank up my car, roll down all the windows and start heading towards the interstate. About 4 or 5 miles of stop and go traffic lights. Car will not cool off (100 degree day yesterday for example)
I put the windows up after the first mile to get out the really hot air. My vents are blowing barely cool air, but you can feel it progressively getting cooler.
Once I get on the open road running 50+ MPH, it hits that ice cold temp and things cool down quickly.
I don't remember it taking so long for it to cool off when it was new. I don't want to waste the dealerships time if it is normal, but I'm pushing 32,000 miles and I want it looked at ASAP if this is a problem. I remember my '95 GT acting like this when the freon was low.
