Every once in a while my Ambient Lighting will just turn on by itself. I'll go in the settings and the box for Ambient Lighting is NOT checked even though it's on. I have to select it, then un-select to get it to turn off. Any ideas?

I like the ambient light and keep it on all the time, so I can't tell if I'd have the same problem if I tried to turn it off. However, I remember having the opposite problem with my former Mondeo. Sometimes the ambient light turned itself off for no reason, and I had to go to the settings screen and turn it on again. It then worked fine for a while, until it turned itself off again a couple of weeks later. This hasn't happened to me in the Mustang yet.

Actually, come to think of it, I may be wrong about that. I think it didn't turn itself completely off, but just turned its brighness to the lowest setting. Then I would set the brightness to max again, only to notice a few weeks later that it had turned itself down again.

In vehicles equipped with Sync 3 the ambient light is controlled by it. And Sync 3 is known to be full of bugs. Some have been fixed over time. Others will never be fixed.
What Sync software version are you on?

Yes, but what software version? You can see that on the settings screen, in the "about Sync" section. The latest version (and most probably the last ever) is 3.4.23188.
If yours is older than that, then maybe a software upgrade would fix it.

Yes, I have 3.4.23188. Maybe that's problem, lol. Maybe I should go back to the previous update.

Oh well... In that case I'm out of ideas. :frown:
It's very likely a bug in Sync, though it probably doesn't manifest itself in all vehicles. There may be something else that triggers it.

Actually, I've got another idea. I believe the default status of the ambient light is on. Could it be that a lower voltage causes Sync to reset some of its settings from time to time? How's your battery? Any other strange electric issues recently?
