For now it looks like they'll make the GT350 into 2017 so not much harm in waiting. When they say production on the FPC is halting then it will be time to jump.

I think there is potential for troubles with the FPC and also the Magneride is Ford's first. The new Corvette seems to have lots of QA problems and there are also unexpected problems with the new model BMWs/Mercedes. The real problem is if you have one of these 1st year models, any single problem could sideline your car for weeks while production catches up on spare parts.

Here are some of the PROS for being patient:

1. Better price, none of the ADM BS. Maybe even get one for a good amount under MSRP.
2. Better car. All bugs/gremlins worked out, and maybe even some minor changes made for the better.
3. More aftermarket support. By then, there will be a bigger pool of aftermarket parts that I can select from to upgrade the car.
4. Better understanding of the car from customer reviews, etc.
5. Or even have the option of just not buying the car due to any unresolved issues.

Good things come to those who wait. ;)
BETTER PRICE....Maybe..Maybe Not. Many people are getting these at msrp. Prices on these cars tend to go up pretty quickly. MSRP will likely rise.

BETTER CAR.. No doubt this might be right. What gremlins did they workout between 2011 and 2012 v6 & 5.0? Not much if anything. 2013 & 2014 were big years for power increase on the gt500, but for the gt and v6 not a lot of improvement.

Obviously you are in many ways correct in saying that a little patience will likely be a good/smart thing. Conversely, base price will likely go up and modern car design tends to turn out cars that are pretty well sorted out. I had a 2005 gt and a 2011 gt and both were well sorted out cars with no problems (other than wheel hop upon accelleration).

Ultimately it's your money and your car. So, any choice you make is the right one for you. As for me, I look forward to enjoying my car late this fall or early this winter, gremlins and all.

Look no further. The 1999 Mustang Cobra. You're welcome.
And what major faults since then in first runs? I know Fors won't go down that road again which is why everything is under rated now

Yeah - it was interesting to me that the 2011 5.0 had piston squirters, which were removed for 2012 and then they were brought back in 2015. So did the 5.0 get better in 2012, or was the 2011 first year of the 5.0 actually better?

I think Ford was being extra cautious to make sure the 5.0 was quite durable and so they over-built in 2011 to be sure the 5.0 would hold up to abuse.

That is my kind of car company!

I do not think there will be to many bugs to work out...Ford said " Over the past three years, these engines have done thousands of hours of durability testing in the Dearborn dyno cells and countless miles on the road and trac" So I'm thinking this will be a great car for reliability out of the box. Especially with all the bugs they had to work out to get the car right in the first place...

I am not concerned about first year production issues but I am waiting a year for the ADM crap to die down so I can get one at a reasonable price. No rush here.

And the two problems with the power in that motor were poorly cast intakes by the vendor and a last second exhaust change to better accommodate the IRS which was also last minute that completely choked the motor. Ford was under that hack Jack Nasser at the time and the company was lets say run extremely poor. If anybody thinks that the quality of parts on the current production halo for the company won't be scrutinized they're mistaken. Government certification is also stricter, so we wont have any last min changes on the car.

I see all these threads of pre-ordering, putting down deposits, worries about dealer allocation, etc., etc.. I would rather sit on the sideline and wait a while for the hype to die down before jumping in. I will never pay over MSRP for any car. Also, first year model runs tend to still have some minor issues/bugs that needs to be worked out.

Am I the only one here that is not in a rush to get one of the first batches of GT350's off the lots?
I'd probably go ahead and get one if I could do MSRP, but I'm not in a big hurry and, apparently, neither is my dealer as he keeps emailing me telling me that he has no information yet.
