Alignment/Steering Wheel Off

'17 non R...150 miles when i called in and 1200 miles now....

My steering wheel is not centered...the "bar" of leather is not at top dead center...the car doesn't pull left or right when i take my hand off, BUT, if turn it to the right a bit, to get the strip of leather to the top; it pulls to the right....my question is....does Ford offer a free alignment for the first time? i bought the car out west and had it shipped to GA and i've got an app't tomorrow morn....i really don't think i should pay for an alignment or align. check....i guess the selling dealer didn't do a good job during PDI...thx!

I would say the dealer will take care of it under warranty without any issues. It's a simple adjustment of the tie rod sleeves. If they don't I would start looking for a different dealer to go to.

the selling dealer is way out of state...this is a local dealer for tomorrow's appt....the service writer said it will be at least $89 to look at it AND "if you would have bought it from us, there would be no charge." that really pissed me off! i'm used to Porsche service and that sh!t would never come up...i don't give a rip about the 100 or so dollars...i just don't think i should be charged to center the wheel...conversely, if i hit something or if I caused the mis-alignment, not a problem

Pfft screw that shit. I'd find another dealer who doesn't have an attitude problem.. and charging 89 dollars to initiate warranty work? What a bunch of asshats.

I've owned a bunch of Fords and NEVER have I been charged for any sort of warranty work.

Call Ford customer care and have them authorize it another dealership as that dealer will always treat you bad moving forward.

Alignments are usually covered the 1st 30 days unless there is evidence of a impact or damage.

I just found this in the owner's manual

Wheel alignments and tire balancing will be provided during the first​

12 months or 12,000 miles in service, whichever occurs first.

They should take care of it under warranty. If all else fails and you have ramps or access to a lift and tools, it's no big deal to adjust the tie rod ends to center the steering wheel. Just have to turn both sides an equal number of turns (mark the sleeve) to keep toe set. I had to fiddle with mine a little when I removed the toe out in my front end.

covered under warranty...exactly what sublime said, Thx!...the girl that mentioned the $89 was new and really didn't know....i asked if i could bring it in around the 11,500 mark to get another check and adjustment and she please do! all's well!
