Not entirely true. My 2011 Taurus SHO has alcantra and leather seats. Easier to clean than leather. Looks great and has lasted longer (104K miles) than the breathable foam lining between the cover and the seat cushions underneath.

Like I said, unless well cared for.
I want to see what happens when in vehicles that get rarely cleaned, and used hard. NOT, in an SHO that the owner took care of. A vehicle that had kids in it, horsing around, eating fast food, and such. spilling drinks, puking,etc that kids tend to do.

It will wear down. Much like leather splits and cracks, alcantara looses its “fuzz” and becomes glossy and “slick” looking.

Interesting the Nikko suede in the cs holds up better than the leather mustangs I’ve looked at. It also doesn’t sag like the perforated leather does. Any material will be wrecked by enough abuse.

I literally put a brand new GT350R interior into my 2016 GTPP...I'm a very big fan of alcantara/suede.

I did a wheel in it. I love the feel, but I wouldn't want large swaths of it on the dash of something. Its kinds high maintence if you want it to keep looking nice.

I did my version of Alcantara except of the dashboard which requires the disassembly at once and it was something I wasn't ready for. Anyways, I like the look after all even after

the GT350 steering wheel install. it made a perfect fit.

I thought the steering wheel would be but I just wash my hands before driving it and I've only had to service it once in the last 2 years. All I did was use a light bristle toothbrush, water and a towel and it removed all of the little oil spots and returned it back to new. I think people who let it go too far have the issues.

I have Alcantara wheel in my M2. I use Sonax and a boar brush every couple months and brush it out. It looks same as day I installed it after one year. Its my daily driver as well.

You absolutely right, I feel like I am driving a Porsche GT3RS all day long lol. Tho I really have thought about the CF like ( Zander13 ) posted on his YouTube channel.
