So I've devised a plan of attack, ford couldn't get my car in for another week and as this is now my daily which is about 3-5 hours a day on the road, I couldn't wait that long. So I've managed to get it in to a AC specialist on Monday morning for a check and gas with dye. Rego is due in just under 6 weeks so in about 4 weeks I'll book it in for rego check (I think rego checks start after 5 years, not 100% sure) and service as it will be about due by then, and get them to check it out while its in there.I was advised by my dealer that the Ford Australia support program for the evaporator runs for 5 years from the date of sale. Mine was purchased in Oct 2016 and I have been having some ongoing AC issues. They have added a dye to my gas and topped it up. They said that we have until Oct this year (5 years) to try and pin it down (to the evaporator). I have had two recent trips to the dealer to attempt to diagnose it and I haven't been charged for either visit. They asked me to wait a month or two and bring it back. My car was sold and has been serviced by the same dealer. You may want to get it into a dealer before your 5 years elapses next month....
If you are hoping for Ford to authorise an out of warranty repair, there is no way I would allow a third party to mess with it until the dealer has taken a look.I couldn't wait that long. So I've managed to get it in to a AC specialist on Monday morning for a check and gas with dye.
Thats the strange part, the image found is connected to a website for upholstery work in bangalore. So I have no idea when it was taken.can I ask what type of site you found it on?
was it for sale at the time?
Good news it was a simple issue of a sensor connector disconnected. My aircon cooling stopped suddenly while driving today in 23 degrees. Hot out of all vents. It is a 2017MY GT that has only done 1,612 km. Hope it is something simple that does not involve pulling the dash out. Booked into dealer for check in 2 weeks as it is the first appt available. I am expecting Ford will do the honourable thing with a goodwill warranty on such low km.
Thanks for that, I'll keep the group posted!Sorry to hear that Danny, this will be interesting. Best of luck!!
I had the same thing happen to me and turned out to be the compressor so hopefully something like that and not the whole dash out bsHate to be bringing this thread up again but, took the Stang out for a cruise on a spectacular day for the first day of spring and no aircon! Very weak passenger side and only warm air on drivers side.
Ford were happy to cover the dash out evap replacement out of warranty 11 months ago at 14500k's. So now just over 2000K's later have it booked in for Tues 14th to probably go through the whole thing again. Not happy about potentially second removal of the dash or having to wait to find out that Ford will do the right thing!
