Not sure if it made any difference but I drilled out a few of the blocked honeycombs in my grille before doing this. I didn't really notice much from doing that but when I switched from stock filter to the AEM I seemed to notice a better feel to the throttle response and possibly a small bump in power about equivalent to shutting down the AC while driving. I did the tube last and it felt even slightly better right away. After a couple of days it got even slightly better.
I would equate the total difference about the same as driving around in 95 degree heat with the AC on and a passenger before to driving around in 55 degree weather with no AC and no passenger after. There is no doubt in my mind that I have a small power/torque increase and better throttle response after in the low and mid range but I can't tell much if any difference up top.

I saw the oiled filters cause issues when I worked as a Ford service advisor. They contaminated the MAF sensor.

Aside from potential oil contamination on the MAF, the K&N filters also don't filter as well.

Cmon, I've run k&n air filters in my last 12 cars, every car and they are great! I don't buy that a dry filter is better>
I agree. If anything the only problems from an oiled one is because people dump the oil on it, throw it in there, and then go blasting down the road. Every time I've re-oiled a filter I used a small amount of oil, let it sit for a while (sometimes a night) and then put it in. I've never had an issue. And I don't know where people come up with this "K&N don't filter well" info. It seems like K&N gets dumped on by everyone these days. They all filter the same. Down to the cheap $3 no-name brand Ebay filters. They're all the same and all filter great.

Question on these Airaid MIT's - it deletes the resonator in the stock tube right? Does it change the sound inside or outside the car?

My exhaust sounded growlier. It was more noticeably inside the car. And I don't know how much of that to attribute to the filter or the tube. But it does eliminate the resonator on the stock tube.

Thanks. Is your exhaust stock and do you still have the cabin exhaust tube connected?

I still have the cabin tube. And the exhaust is stock. But with an official CAI it kinda sounds aftermarket from inside the car. It sounds really good. I'll post pics of the MIT in a bit.

So I bought 4V Mayhem's Airaid MIT, got it today, and installed it in like 10 mins (that's a big deal to me fellows). Good initial impression. Nothing mind blowing but definitely a worthy purchase. I had already deleted the sound tube from the stock intake tube so I didn't really notice any change in cabin sound and with the already installed H pipe, I didn't notice a difference in exhaust note either. With all that said and just a quick WOT up and back down the street, I am pretty happy with the purchase.

I know my tube made a difference! I also think that the borla touring catback that I just installed makes my car feel faster as well even though people say it doesn't add any HP. Feels like the air really flow better and engine can really roar! IMO

I, too, noticed an increase in power when I installed my H pipe. I kept telling myself ...No, I'm imagining it/wishful thinking ... but the car definitely had noticeable more pull to it. And I'm using the stock mufflers. I'm sure the Airaid MIT is an improvement over stock....just needs some more playtime.
