My thoughts looking at it: I don't like the accordion part which by design is more restrictive vs smooth couplers and the tube looks smaller diameter than the Airaid MIT.
Same here. Not a fan of that accordion. Plus it looks ugly.

The claims of 9hp and 13tq at 4,100 rpm confirm my butt dyno feelings in the mid range. Makes me think too that most of the gains from a cai are from that elbow and not the filter itself. Ford Power Pack Stage 1 here I come.

anybody here notice that the clamp around airaid pipe to stock airbox coupler is not nearly a big enough clamp, get maybe 2 turns, needs a 5" dia. clamp

Are you sure you have the correct coupler? I had no issues with it.

yes the coupler at throttle body fits in a recessed area at end of airaid tube and clamp is the right size, the coupler going to the stock airbox fits over the airaid tube and they both use a #64 clamp, but it barely fits over the coupler and tube at the airbox end, hence needs a 5" clamp and not 4 1/2" so i now have to go buy a larger clamp after buying this expensive plastic tube

also not crazy about how these alum. fittings for all the hoses are just help in place with some 0.15 cent rubber grommets, the plastic should have either been thickened here and drilled & tapped or the fittings should have been plastic and plastic welded in place like ford did it.

nothing aftermarket ever works out like like OEM stuff, and these would have been easy fixes to have a superior part

I went from airaid mit to mishimoto mit. Both systems are good. PM me if you are looking for lightly (1 week) used airaid mit. I got that from a friend of mine and he didn't want it back. It also has a ford logo on it looks original oem part!

Yes an old thread, but this is one that I looked at before purchasing to gather information so I thought I would post some follow-up comments.

Airaid Modular Intake Tube 450-932 paired with the aFe MagnumFLOW Air Filter PRO Dry S 31-10255, (so it could be called the Airaid JR Kit). After giving the car some driving time I found a stretch of road that was clear so I could give it a go. I agree with the posts that found increased improvement over stock.

Most delete the sound tube but mine is still attached, and I like it. Paired with the Velossa Tech Big Mouth Ram Air Kit it makes a sound from the rush of air in the cabin that is music to my ears, (from 50+ mph to wide open throttle). At cruising speeds it sounds the same as stock.

If you've ever driven an old muscle car with ram air or cowl induction you know the sound. It also reminds me of back in the day when I would flip my dad's filter lid over and put the wing nut back on, just to listen to the 4 barrel kick in. It's not that loud but similar.

It looks nice also.
Could you point me in the right direction to get the FORD emblem you have on this CAI? Thanks!
