Hey all -

I'm wondering who else bought an aftermarket h-pipe and decided later to throw on an axle back as well. Since the information is kind of scattered thought it might be helpful for people to share their own experiences here.

I know CJ Pony Parts tested the Ford Racing by Borla touring, Roush and Magnaflow competition all with the MRT H pipe. Roush in my opinion sounded really good but just too loud for my own taste.

I've also heard the Lethal H pipe + Steeda axle back and a H pipe with the Corsa Sport axle back.

I personally have been going back and forth between adding the Corsa touring axle back or ARH axle back to my lethal H pipe and when I make my decision on which I will be sure to add a video as I do not believe anyone else has tested these combinations.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be beneficial.

Thank you!

I first started with a resonator delete.
I had a custom H-pipe made from scratch and installed for under $100 in New Mexico.
After about 4 months of just the H-pipe, I added the Roush Axlebacks.
Start with a X or H pipe and progress from there if you are still not content.

The only axlebacks we tested with our resonator delete kits were the Roush and Magnaflow competition axleback. Here's videos for both of them just incase you haven't heard them yet.

you always have the option of putting back the stock resonator and going with an axle back, that will give you a little more,

an h pipe with axle back will sound very similar to the full catbacks

I have H pipe then added Borla s-type. I could not be happier. Zero drone nice deep idle and you can here a little lope sound. Highway speeds doesn't matter zero drone. The sounds it makes when the RPM's come down are badass.

i have the exact same set up, i had a x pipe instead of the H pipe for a while as well. I wouldn't say there is no drone. around 60-70 Mph in 6th you can without a doubt hear it in the cabin pretty good. I would almost go as far as call it annoying. With that said it does sound amazing. the x pipe didnt sound as good but it did have less drone.

I've got a CJ Pony Parts H pipe and outlaw axle backs. Its loud, and angry. Tookalittlw for it to mellow a bit, but I like the sound.

I don't think that's drone at 60 to 70. Yes you can hear the system at that speed, but to call that drone. I think drone is more of a rattling, vibration of the car at around 60 to 70. I do have the 3.73 6 speed. And I'm not getting that.
