On order is 19 GT, PP1, 6Speed, 3.73 rear, Magna Ride and Ford Active Exhaust. Looking hard at the Roush Stage I SC Kit. I am new to FI so looking for general thoughts on this. This will be my fun driver. Out in fair weather and trips, etc. No track, but will run it up to redline and run twisty roads for fun. That said here are a few questions.

1. Should I change to higher rated half shafts?
2. What issues with increased power have on stock clutch?
3. MPG-Realize having your foot buried into it has negative impact. What affect does SC have to MPG on interstate driving?
4. What are recommendations for Shifter kits to avoid shifting lock-outs at high revs. I will not be power-shifting but will be doing high rev fast shifting.

Any other advice from others who have gone down FI path before me.

Thanks

1. Should I change to high rated half shafts? Probably not a bad idea, but depends on how many times you wanna floor it at stop signs. If you do, suspension items would be a great help. They would be a great help anyway,
2. What issues with increased power have on stock clutch? Depends on how you treat it. I have many mods including headers and a Roush supercharger and I'm on the stock clutch with no issues. But, I'm not mashing it at every stop sign and red light. I'm more into twistys.
3. Realize having your foot buried into it has negative impact. What is affect to road MPG on interstate driving I'm sure it will drop some, but I never noticed or cared because mine is just a toy.
4. What are recommendations for Shifter kits to avoid shifting lock-outs at high revs. I will not be power-shifting but will be doing high rev fast shifting. I have the Steeda Tri-Ax shifter and BG trans fluid. Never had an issue. MGW and Barton are great shifters also.
5. Any other advice from other who have gone down FI path before me. You would be adding a lot more power, be ready for things to possibly break, and the IRS will need some upgrading.

Thanks

I have the Roush kit on my 2018 gt. If you don’t set your goals too high in terms of power and low times at the track it’s not a bad unit.

The intercooler is too small and the design of the heat exchanger cooling system is poor in my opinion. I modified mine and built an aluminum cell so I can add ice when I’m at the track. However I like the look of the supercharger being on top of the Intercooler rather that underneath. The Edelbrock and the Whipple are superior units due a larger Intercooler.

I’m not sure if ford has upgraded the mt82 for 2019. I baby my tranny since I don’t want to send it to the dealer with broken forks. If you hammer the shifts expect to break the third and fourth shift forks.

If you want to keep the warranty through roush, don’t tune it either. I have the tick with my motor, so I could have an engine failure of some sort and Roush should repair it.

Hope this helps.

1. If you plan to do digs or drag strip pull you def want at least a set of G-force 850 half shafts, preferably outlaws though.

2. Clutch will burn out much sooner, not that it matters, you should plan to do the clutch ASAP anyway

3. MPG won't change much with the blower, when you are off boost you aren't using any more fuel than you would if you were NA, the 2650 has minimal parasitic loss when not in use

4. You want to pick up a MGW race spec shifter or the Barton hybrid. You want the shifter directly mounted to the trans and not the chassis. I have personal experience with the MGW and it works great

half shafts are never a bad idea, as far as a clutch, depends on how your using the car. if your not at the dragstrip alot, i it may hold up for some time. same with half shafts, if you plan on tracking, both will probably want to be upgraded,

let me know if we can help at all with any questions, or parts

Thank you for the information. Do you recommend installing OPG? On occasion, will do some redline shifts, no power shifting and no track. Knowing me, I will at times-not often push hard from a stop-but will avoid tire spin. Thoughts?

Ive heard good things about the Roush blowers on the '18, but If I were you I would get a whipple stage 1 kit instead. You get a larger intercooler and throttle body, an amazing tune with flight control to limit the power in each gear if you like, you get to keep your warranty like the roush, and the whipple stage 1 makes 775 horsepower over Roush's 700hp. All around a much better choice IMO.

if you just want the slight power bump and looks, and dont plan on winning races then its a fine option. i ran a 16 with roush supercharger everything else stock for awhile and no issues MPG were roughly 15 city 22 hwy. i imagine better from the 18+

depends on if you plan on using two steps or transbrakes, if not, then you will probably be ok as long as you don't get too crazy on the horsepower

The A10 is likely to be easier on the suspension load than a clutch. Are you really adding a blower to granny it? Don't think so....
I'd do every upgrade mentioned here before the blower or at the same time.

I routinely see 23 MPG cruising around 70. 3.55 rear gears. 12-14 city.

4. What are recommendations for Shifter kits to avoid shifting lock-outs at high revs. I will not be power-shifting but will be doing high rev fast shifting.

MGW + BG Synchro Shift II + Stainless clutch line. I beat the snot out of my roush-equipped GT every single day with this same setup and have never experienced a high RPM lockout.

Any other advice from others who have gone down FI path before me.

Prepare to beef up your suspension, with the added power you'll feel the rear of the car squirm a bit more, a BMR cradle lockout + steeda upper shock mount will be very worthwhile.

FI + 3.73's are a really fun combo. Take your time learning the car beo
