Hello! So I’ve got a roush phase 1 kit on my 2015 GT. I might want to pulley down to a 79 with either a VMP or Lund tune. What else would I need for the car perfect with the 79 mm pulley? Also if you’ve got either VMP or Lund how is the tune? Let me know what tune you have and how you are liking it! Having a very hard time deciding lol there are so many opinions on here!! Let me know. Thanks!

I have a Lund tune for my Roush/Ford Racing supercharger. If you want a 79mm pulley, stay on 93 or 91 octane, and go with Lund. he'll suggest the following:

Fuel pump booster (Mine is a VMP but there are others)
ID 1050x injectors (He prefers to tune with those injectors, but you could use another brand)
NGK 6510 plugs gapped at .028
IAT 2 wiring harness
Reische 170 degree thermostat

Those are the items he suggested for me. I run an 80mm pulley on mine and a 93 octane tune with some other items in my sig below and the car runs flawless. Loads of power (for me) and no issues. I'm sure VMP is very good as well judging by what the other guys say on the forum.

You will need a Booster and at least 56lb injectors. Call VMP. Their tunes have always been perfect for me. I also run NGK 6510 gapped at.032

Sounds good! Do you know which injectors come with the phase 1 SC kit?

This. With more boost comes more heat soak. So you also need to start thinking about heat removal. Upgrading your heat exchanger should be the next thing on your mind. Nothing sucks worse than to have the tune start pulling timing because IAT temps rise above 130F. Efficiency is critical for repeatability. There are two routes to consider.

1.) VMP triple pass unit with dual 11" fans. Straight forward install, running some wiring but overall straight forward.
2.) Whipple oversized dual pass which will also require the whipple $100 mounting kit and some plumbing rerouting BUT no fans to worry about. The unit is a beast and is 2-2.5 times thinker than the VMP unit. No fans means a stealthy means of not advertising, "HEY! I'M RUNNING BOOSTED! HEAR MY HE FANS BLOWING?!?!"

I went with VMP unit on my 14 setup. Worked nicely. I have the WHipple unit for this car. One other thing to consider is upgrading the recirc pump on the HE system as well.

Lund has done a stellar job on my setup. Still have a few minor things to clean up on the shifting side AND verify WOT shifting as soon as I can, but otherwise I cannot be happier with their tune. Would have saved myself some money had I just gone the Lund route originally but I decided to "save a buck" and tried another well known tuner who did a better job than the tune that came on the car, but exhibited very poor communication skills and the ability to follow direction on remediation issues.

@ugstang17, not to hijack the thread, but yeah, a possible heat exchanger upgrade wouldn't be a bad idea. It has been going through my head and I would like to go with the Whipple, but was weary of making it work/fit with my system. I didn't even know they sold a mounting kit for different applications. I'm not having issues with IAT's being too high since my latest upgrades, but then again it's not hot and humid outside yet, so we'll see.

Fitment not an issue. The guys at PBD have installed one on a Roush setup in an S550. It was a 16 or 17 as I recall. Its not quite as wide as the VMP but it is a thicker core. $650 new including the mounting kit gets you the Whipple. $839 gets you the VMP.

I used Ken and Rob at Palm Beach Dyno. Rob "the tunemaker" Shoemaker is one of the best around.
The big turn-off from Lund is that the N-Gauge that you are about to spend $450 on is locked to him.Not only your car's vin number, but him.No other tuners files work with it.
PBD has a great combo deal.

Then I called roush and purchased the 80 mm pulley that comes in the 727hp kit part # 1313-6K80 for $105 shipped.
You will need a fuel pump booster. The VMP is good, but I went with the JMS so the pump is not on kill all the time.
After that you just need to grab some NGK 6510 spark plugs and you have arrived to the next level.

I have to agree with whiteydog that it is more than enough power to play around on the street with after the upgrades.
