Maybe there is an expectations problem here. Speaking for myself, I never expected my car to be perfect. I didn't go over it with a "fine toothed comb", measure the panel gaps with a digital caliper, or threaten to "refuse delivery" if the dealer did any one of the number of things that many of the people on this forum deem unacceptable.

I bought my car to drive, and in 4 months I have spent about 220 hours doing just that - covering a little more than 8400 miles so far. In that time I have thoroughly enjoyed it.

Have I had some problems? Yep.

In the first week I had to have the passenger side windshield wiper arm replaced because the pivot pin was falling out. The dealer had the part shipped in next day air, and they fixed it in less than 10 minutes the following day.

I have really bad brake squeal. I waited until the TSB was posted before taking my car in because I don't really like wasting my time. I have an appointment tomorrow morning, and I fully expect that to be addressed as well.

My rear windshield is not mounted flush - like just about everyone else's. I would not have noticed this if I hadn't read about it on this forum, and it doesn't bother me, so I won't bring it up with the dealer.

All that said, there are a couple of features that I wish the car had, based on my experiences driving lots and lots of rental cars - but I knew that the Mustang didn't have them when I ordered mine, so I can't really criticize the car based on those.

Wish list:
  • Heated Steering Wheel
  • Heads-Up Display (with digital speedo)
  • Proximity Locking

The point is that my experience is just as valid as yours. I am happy with my car. You are unhappy with your car. I get that.
I am unhappy that Ford won't fix my car, I am not talking about a slight panel gap either. Panels were wielded onto the unibody very crooked and I didn't have to look for it because it's obvious when your door rubs the fender opening it, rear side windows are not flush against the weather stripping, trunk is very crooked and the hood is so crooked that there's huge gaps between the lights, hood, and fender and light leaks out of them. The rear bumper and fender were so far apart you could see the bracket they attach to.

I still enjoy the car but it's frustrating that Ford is refusing to fix it.

Frankly i'd be annoyed and pissed if my door rubbed on the fender. What's that going to even look like when you have 100k miles on the car?
I get standards but I would be pissed I'm paying the price of a new car on a car that looks like it's been in an accident

Exactly! Sorry if I expect my car to not look like it was in a wreck. Try selling a car that looks like it had shoddy bodywork and you take a hit in value. Not to mention spending a lot of money on it and I expect it to look better.

Why would you try to assure someone when there are so many issues? I'm kicking myself for not waiting for the '16's. I should've waited but believed that if there were issues it's under warranty and it would be taken care of. Now I have a car under warranty and Ford has refused to honor the warranty and I have worked with a regional CSR which didn't help at all. Now I am having to go through the Lemon Law process.

Don't get me wrong I truly love my car but my panels look like they were beat to shit before they were installed on my car, both doors and fenders look like someone tried to pop out dents and every panel, fender, doors, all three rear windows, bumpers, hood and trunk are all crooked. Totally unacceptable on a car that has an MSRP of $38k.

Do what I did make a video and post it everywhere on facebook. Every time Ford or anyone posts on facebook, I would reply with my squealing brake video. I posted that video on every social media site out there and guess what happened? Yup, they re-opened my case and came out with a fix. I was told by the regional manager that my case was closed. Guess who has new rotors and brakes? Good luck!

You qualify for the Lemon Law because the subpar construction affects the value of the car.

I know and I have already started the Lemon Law process and was told that by the BBB Auto Line. Ford received my 10 day notice for a last repair attempt last Tuesday and Ford hasn't responded yet, they have until Friday to do so. The BBB Auto Line notified Ford of my warranty claim and Ford offered to make 1 months car payment. The Regional CSR Mario wasn't much help when I tried to get Ford to fix my car, he gave me a 3 year/45k mile maintenance contract for my troubles even though I told him that wasn't enough and I wasn't settling for that. BBB recommended I send Ford a written notice giving them 10 days to do a final repair or Ford could try to have my case dismissed for not providing written notice. I don't want them to have any chance of dismissal over a technicality so I quickly sent the letter and Ford received it Tuesday at 10:14 am.

So, did the GM really tell you to F-off.... Because you surely have skipped around that part when everyone has asked you about it in this thread...
yes. Jeff Gelt (sales manager, thought he was GM) told me to F off and hung up on me twice. I went to the Owner of that specific ford dealership and was told my first three oil changes would be covered.
also when I called service for an update I was told by the service mananger to calm down and not get an attitude. its just a car is what he told me. so yeah, Im pretty pissed at the dealer and they ended up fixing it but let it leave their shop unpainted and told me I could buy touch up paint on my own dime and fix the "minor" paint imperfection.

Any time I have dealt with the dealer I bought my car from I have been either hung up on or been told to calm down and lose the attitude. I spent 36k on a new car. sorry I wanted it to be "perfect". Shouldn't something be perfect that you spend that much money on? as a consumer I expect the best product. so now my 2015 Mustang Gt with 500 miles has touch up paint covering up something that shouldn't have even been a problem in the first place. I was already asked by someone if I'd been in an accident because it looks like the front right fender is not fitted all that well. FUUUUCK.

edit - another thing that annoyed me..i dropped the car off with 419 miles for "service" to have the door and fender aligned. my MPG calculator had 17.2 MPG. when i picked it up there was 463 miles on the car and the MPG was down to 15.2. i asked where the body shop was and was told ten miles away. so for 20 miles my car was hammered on by some service tech out for a joyride. WTF. begs the question of what about the other 24 miles that "appeared" on the clock? when asked i was told by Service manager "my employees do not take cars for joyrides." i had pics to support my argument(taken when i dropped car off) and was told i was wrong. haha. going to an indy from now on. Fuck Ford.

First of all I hope you get your car fixed. But how exactly did the first conversation go if you don't mind me asking? I have bad experiences with dealers also but it's always professional. So I just take my case to Ford and with the case number all of a sudden they're ready to help.

Good luck in any case.

I am paranoid about someone joyriding my car. I haven't hit redline in mine it's only got 350 miles on it so no tech better be doing it in my car.

it went something like me calling and asking if they've had problems with the door rubbing on the fender because mine was. then after talking to him for a few minutes, he said it doesn't sound like a warranty problem but bring it in and we will look and see. after that I said bullshit, this is a manufacture defect and it needs to be fixed. then he said, calm down and I again said bullshit, you shouldn't tell a customer who just spent 36k on a car to calm down, nor should you speak to any customer like that. then the line went dead. after I called back and asked to speak to someone else, he answered and said that he was informing his employees to not deal with me or give me service and I asked if he dealt with all customers in such a manner and was told to fuck off and was hung up again. I drove the car in the day after, and was greeted with hostility by both service manager and sales managers. until my sales man saw me and came over and brought me to the owner of the dealership. like I said, I was upset, I called bullshit, but I was not going over the top and screaming at him. The owner now tells me to come to him whenever service is needed.
The car was fixed, but the paint had not been repaired. Service manager states and I quote "nothing a little touch up paint wont fix" so I said "fuck you guy" and drove away from the dealership vowing to never go there again.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but calling Ford and getting a case number means nothing. I went that route and my door hits the fender and the field engineer says it's normal, my panels that are beat to shit with creases and every single panel is very crooked and field engineer also said it's within tolerance. So reporting it to Ford, having a case number, and a regional CSR didn't do a damn thing for me! I have never had such a problem getting a brand new car under warranty fixed before. Lesson learned, next time I buy a car, fix it before I buy it. I'm so pissed, so much time wasted and my $38k car looks like it was in an accident and poorly repaired and Ford doesn't want to fix it. Fuck Ford and their shitty customer service, I know the dealer low balled my trade and when I win my Lemon Law claim Ford will have to pay me the difference.
