Advanced track question.

I have a GTPP Premium. Even in track mode, I know there's still some traction control. I'm trying to hit the track tonight and my question is, does advanced track pull power or interfere unless you have excessive wheel spin? I've only had it light up a couple times on the street.

advancetrac will interfere if you don't disable it.

I believe it tries to detect spin and applies brakes to wheels as well.

But it's not slowing the car down unless it detects wheel spin correct? I'll just disable it from the get go.

I keep fuse 62 in my glove box. I find TC and AdvanceTrac to be quite bothersome. AdvanceTrac will apply the outer rear brake I believe to keep you from spinning out.

I don't have a complete knowledge how it operates, I just turn it completely off.

Base S550 GT:

Default at every start-up:
- Traction Control On
- Stability Control On

Single tap: "Traction Control Off"
- Traction Control Off
- Stability Control On

Double Tap: "AdvancTrac Sport Mode"
- Traction Control Reduced
- Stability Control Reduced

Press & Hold: "AdvancTrac Off" (e.g. Track Mode)
- Traction Control Off
- Stability Control Off

AdvancTrac helps to maintain control of your vehicle on slippery surfaces using Traction Control and Stability Control by applying brakes to individual wheels and reducing engine power.

Traction control helps to avoid drive wheel spin and loss of traction.

Stability control helps avoid skids and lateral slides.

On the Base Mustang, this is all completely independent of the steering setting.

None of this has anything to do with the differential (which is a Torsen, if you have a PP). I find that the Torsen nicely kicks in and allows natural, easy correction of rear wheel drift in normal driving.
