Advanced Trac - Driving Me NUTS

I went to Byron Dragway today and ran a best of 12.0@116 and two 12.1's after that and 4 other passes where advanced trac turned back on during the run and then kicked in traction control after each shift ruining those passes.

On the 12.0 run right when I kicked in the 2nd bulb on the tree I saw the Advanced Trac light turn off! I quickly held the button down long enough to turn it back off and launch the car just in time to get a decent reaction time.

Why the frackin frig does this turn itself back on?? I'm not changing the gear selector, I literally saw the light go off with no input from me. I'm going to call the worthless dealer who will give me a line of bull because they simply don't know but dammit man, this is frustrating as hell.

Doesn't sound right to me. If I hold the trac button up about 5 sec, advanced trac turns off and doesn't come back on unless I flip the trac button up again or shut off and restart the car. Advanced trac shouldn't matter in a straight line though as long as traction control is disabled (although I don't think I've ever just shut off traction control w/o disabling the whole thing). First thing I always do after starting the car is flip the drive mode to sport and then disable advanced trac.

Read post #15 in the linked thread, seems like good advice, though I have not tried that...yet! Just passed 1,500 miles so I'm almost ready to let all of the horses out.

I agree turning itself off doesn't sound right at all. Mine has never done that. I also agree that the dealer will likely look at you like a deer in the headlights when you bring this to their attention. At least that is what my dealer would do.

Just unplug it by the air box under the hood while you're at the track and you won't have to worry.

Everything is as it came with the car, stock 20 inchers.

Maybe somebody should tell that to my car, it didn't get the memo, sadly the dealership calls this "normal". I typically put the car in drag mode first, then hold the button to turn off adv trac.... I was at the tree and staged when I saw the light turn off, I had to hold that bugger again praying the car next to me didn't stage before the adv trac turned off light came on. I got lucky and ran my best pass of the day on that run but it pisses me off hat it would do this. On 3 other runs it turned back on during the pass, it's like what the frig?!?!?

I have tried every method mentioned, plus whats in the book, mine turns itself back on when it feels like it, there were 3 runs where it did not turn back on but time was lost in the 1 to 2 shift when the car would spin the tires and kick out but still went 12.0 and 12.1. When it works driving at the dragstrip is fantastic, but 50% of the time that damn thing turns back on by itself.

I'm hoping a tune can help with this....

Yeah, agreed, except for this one part, I have forgotten about this every time I go to the track!

Double check your tire sizes. Summit sent me one 28x6 and one 26x6 and mine did something similar.

I'm running stock everything, I haven't purchased anything except gas... where am I supposed to check them in the system since I have no tuner? Did your adv trac turn back on while staging the car?

I should mention, if I just drive the car, advanced trac will stay off, how about that for a twist?

Nope, not even a burn out, I literally drive into the lane, set drag mode and turning off adv trac then stage the car.
