I’m curious why you want to add a separate three way in the rear? Just from an audiophile perspective your rear should be fill and not surround sound. When properly staged you shouldn’t even notice the rear speakers playing.
That being said, it’s your car and your money so if it were me I’d replace the rear deck with 6.5” components and then you can run speaker pods on the rear sail panel for the 3.5 and tweets.
To get better sound out of the rear deck you’ll need to punch the holes out that cover the speakers. That carpeting is really thick and kills the output of those speakers. Here’s how it looks when done.

I / the shop is going to do the holes in the rear deck. And the additional speakers are there for rear fill and to replicate surround sound. I have yet to hear a mustang that has only upgraded rear deck speakers/amp that sound anything but mediocre. I want it to sound as good as my S580. I am taking it to a shop on Saturday. I have another project so
