My accident caused damage to the rear differential that was not found till I was given back the car. They replaced the rear crossmember as a result of my sliding into a curb. The car was severely pulling to the right under acceleration and after ford took a look at it they came to the conclusion that the rear differential need to be rebuilt.

Question is the car going to drive the same again?

I'm not sure what the differential would cause it to pull right under throttle without more info. Which differential is it? What was the extent of the damage? Are there any outward signs of damage on the axle carrier? I'd sooner be inclined to believe that the suspension or subframe was misaligned during repair (or the chassis is damaged), causing uneven toe changes under acceleration than the differential itself inducing a yaw.

Wish I could give your more info! They told me the alignment specs came back perfect. But I drove the car and it was pulling hard right under acceleration. The body shop had to transfer the car to ford for further investigation and that's where ford said that the rear differential needed to be rebuilt.

When they say "rebuild the differential", what are they actually referring to? The axle carrier (3rd member, pumpkin, etc, also sometimes - and erroneously - called the differential), or the actual differential assembly within the axle (the Traction Lok or Torsen unit)? Sometimes variations in terminology makes for translation errors, and its not always clear what the guy doing the repair meant...
