Yesterday when I went out to start the car I raised the hood to watch the compressor and condenser fan. The compressor kicked on but the condenser fan was not running. I let the car run for about 10 minutes and the fan never came on. Could this be the issue with the AC waiting 1 -2 minutes to begin to cool?

Cold(er) air starts coming out in my car, if the car has been sitting in the sun, in about 30 seconds.

Sounds like my ex-g/f. She'd blow hot, then get cold. *shrug*

Except multiple people here have said this does not happen to them. And OP sat in other mustangs at ford dealership with tech and it did not happen in those either.

I have never had a car where the AC took more than 10ish seconds to start blowing cold air. Admittedly, I am not in as hot a climate, but still.
We get some hot humid days where the dew point is in the 70's. My AC takes a while to cool off especially if I don't put the window shades in. But it does get cold after I start moving.

Hard to tell how long mine takes. I've got a little office shack I park right outside of so when it's hot I start up my car and let it idle with the A/C blasting while I email off end of day stuff and by the time I'm out there and getting in to leave, it's already cold. And I only use it to get rid of the initial heat of a closed up car that's been sitting all day. I roll my windows down and turn the A/C off when I drive because I don't like the slight loss of power you get in the acceleration when you're blasting the A/C lol.

I have a 2016 ecoboost premium convertible. I have been having an issue with the AC blowing scalding hot when the car is first started on a hot day. The cold air will finally start to blow cold after 1 -2 minutes of blowing hot. It has been to the dealer a couple times and they continue to say everything is fine. The problem only happens the first time car is started for the day. Every other start it blows cold right away. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.
I have the same story with my 2018 eco boost mustang. On hot days it takes a good minute (while moving) for it to start getting cold. (After engine start up nothing blows for 5-10 seconds) I ALSO have a 2017 F-150 that blows nothing for 10 seconds then it immediately starts blowing cold.

I have noticed on cooler days it blows colder, sooner. But on a 90° day, it always takes a good minute before it starts cooling. By this time I’m sweating pretty bad.

Worth nothing... no other vehicle I’ve ever had has this trouble in the Louisiana heat. So I’m betting it’s a Mustang problem.

Anyone have any new info before I take it in and get told it’s “normal”???

Hmmm... a little late responding to this old one....lol!

Anyhooo....

Has anyone W/O a manual trans thought about or tried remote starting their vehicle before entering a passenger compartment that has been roasting under that ball of fire in the sky??? Also for this method to work effectively, the driver must preset AC controls in the vehicle to MAX cool (and if having cooled seating, to MAX cool) before shutting down the vehicle. Do a remote start 10-15 minutes BEFORE you are to enter the vehicle.

Some more tips:
1) Windshield shades also help to keep interiors a little cooler
2) tinted windows (where legal)
3) park under or near trees where shade will be present

Below quote is pulled directly from heatkills.org:
At 70 degrees on a sunny day, after a half hour, the temperature inside a car is 104 degrees. After an hour, it can reach 113 degrees.” “When temperatures outside range from 80 degrees to 100 degrees, the temperature inside a car parked in direct sunlight can quickly climb to between 130 to 172.”

Kinda on topic: My '19 Bullitt has the heated/cooled seats. It doesn't seem like the seat gets all that cool, even on 'max cool,' and for a couple minutes it actually feels warmer. This is my first car with heated/cooled seats, is this normal? How does the seat cooling work, does it get cold air from the A/C?

FWIW, I'm not that impressed with my A/C either, and I live in the CA Central Valley and it gets pretty hot here in the summer. My '08 Bullitt's A/C was subpar, too, but I lived in the SF Bay Area so it was less of an issue.

Considering I just bout the new car 3 months ago.... I don’t consider it late.

I think many of you missed the point. Yes, windows are tinted... yes, I have a car window shade... yes I understand it’s hot isn’t he car. But no other vehicle I’ve owned, or driven, has taken 1-2 minutes to begin to blow cold.

The car is new to me so I started looking the issue up and it led me here.

Guess I’m not lucky enough to learn it’s an issue that Ford can reprogram or something.

Any help is appreciated, and thanks in advance.

Also... no remote start. Wish I had, because I thought of that.

Seriously, what's up with these threads lately...

"My car seems to slow down when I let off the gas pedal"
For real.

"My car makes noises!!"

"My wheels are too round!!"

"My car uses too much gas!!!"
