Exhaust is louder when ac is on

Today I noticed, that when AC is ON the exhaust is getting about 15% louder, much deeper. Is this normal? Did you experienced the same.

No, because AC operation has virtually no effect on the exhaust tone/volume.

Maybe not directly, but it does put additional load on the engine, and can bump the idle up slightly when turned on. Both of which could result in a slightly louder exhaust.

I have not noticed this myself as I have not used the A/C yet. But do not forget that different doors in your climate control duct work open and close for different settings. The sound can enter and exit from different openings. This may be why the sound changes.

i think you are wrong, it's not 15%, maybe around 3.47%

you need to recalibrate your ears every 6 months for accurate readings.

It's definitely more than 3.47.
it's noticeable.

Engine load. Same thing on the 6spd when you press in clutch and place in first, RPMs raise a little and exhaust gets louder.

Yep.. increase of engine load when the compressor kicks on.

The louder your exhaust, the more prevalent it will be.

Mine measures 8.92% louder by the way

I notice it all the time. As mentioned it's purely due to additional engine load.

Yeah exact same thing happens with mine as well.
