I've read through the various posts on the UN-official update to Sync 3 v2.2. My 2017 GT350 has v2.0 installed and keeps saying that the system is up-to-date. What's up with this v2.2? Will there be an official release? All the gimmicks which come with the unofficial v2.2 update are in my v2.0 system already...I'm lost..

I believe the update was for the '15 & '16 models that didn't have apple/android car play. The '17's come loaded with it from the get go.

The official release will probably go the way of the GT350 Track Key.....

I've made several inquiries with Ford and the customer service folks on line here. Despite having the upgrade USB port (it works, unofficially), the official line is that the part is not released or even identified yet. Same goes for the official release of the software with only rumors stating that it will come out this Spring.

I updated my '17 to v2.2. CarPlay probably has some bug fixes, but there's not much difference outwardly noticeable between v2.0 and v2.2. I did notice the on-screen volume control is glitchier in v2.2 (shows 0 volume for a half a second before updating with the real volume).

To be clear, I manually updated it with the same firmware/instructions that everyone with a MY16 is using. v2.2 continues to be not available over-the-air.
