Did the E85 tune wake it up quite a bit? Torn between that or an Ess g2.
Yes, but that comparison is pretty different. If you have the expendable cash to go FI, probably do that. Then E85 later. The difference for adding E85 tune is like $250 when N/A. Depending on what you’re wanting overall of course.

If you can afford forced induction go that route. Unless you're a N/A type of guy. I've pretty much bought F/I 2 or 3 times with the mods I've done. I honestly just really never cared to have it. When entertaining the thought it just always seems like more than I care to dive into. I priced the ESS. It was reasonable until I added fuel system and all sorts of other stuff that's never really mentioned. On the light side of ESS I was at $7,500. That escalated to over $10,000 easily. My car is currently being painted repainted and ceramic coated. In all honesty that could've bought me forced induction with change. E85 was worth it for my goals.

So my issue is not the money, but not wanting to spend it. I live in a very suburban area and my fun is about a 4 sec pull. Do I really need 600rwhp to thrill me? Plus extra drama of IAT’s, supercharger belts etc. Plus I want cats so I bought a new take off set of 2020 gt500 cats for a laughable low price, but that’s $1000 fab work to have installed. I also consider 12:1 compression with boost? I might go your route and do intake cams only, ported intake E85 and send it.

To add, the trans didn’t want to shift over about 2500 anymore. The car quickly cooled back down to normal and I never had another issue that day. It has never set off a CEL either. But it’s very much like a limp mode at the time. It acts like it never happened after a few seconds.
This may sound stupid, but im gonna ask. Do you have an oil catch can and it it close to full?

No. At that time, I was completely stock. But I still don’t have a catch can. After getting the tune, I have never been able to replicate the problem and really don’t want to on purpose.

That is the exact reason I won't buy it. I live in Metro Atlanta and nowhere around here can I unleash the power without Dekalb County, APD or Dem State Boys(GSP) doing a PIT maneuver on my Masterpiece! My setup is truly Gnarly! I often entertain the thought of putting a camera on my car to prove how many Scats, Cats, 300s, Vettes, SS, and other underestimating victims have fallen victim to the precision of this FORD! I've never went looking for a race or participated in street events. I will take it to the limit and decimate anyone up for some quick fun on a clear road. When I was looking to buy a muscle car, I was interested in a Camaro and Challenger. My brother steered me to the Mustang and he owned an 2SS Camaro at the time. He called the Mustang a Freak of Nature. He kept referring to it as a Yote! I'm a nerd that goes down rabbit holes. I investigated the Mustang from the performance aspect. I was mindblown! My last muscle car prior was a 79 T/A with a 406 small block in 2005. The Mustang having DOHC, Dual Fuel Injection, 12:1 Compression, headers from the factory, 10 Speed, Posi Rear, 3:55 rears, active exhaust, line lock, hidden transbrake, quad exhaust, 7,500 Redline, paddle shifters. This car is just cool! N/A it's a monster. When you put boost on these they are insane and so simple everyone has it! I love it Natural. If i find a kit for a deal I'll grab it, otherwise I'm good!

Thank you for this Recipe! I now have a new focus on life! I appreciate your motivation. It's on the way from the paint shop next week. After that I'll start focusing on the essentials. I'm upgrading the fuel system with a KPM pump, & ID1050s then I'll Supercharge!

I also have a 3.55 center section in my garage. Needs to be installed. Did you lower motor for cj?

I do have a BMR K-member which lowered the motor. I also have a Cervinis GT 500 hood that provides even more clearance.

IMHO, keep it simple…if you think your car is a riot now, just wait!

it seems to me, that most of the issues rear their ugly heads once we veer off the basic supercharger kit. No need for a fuel system, KPM pump and whatever else. Just pick your favorite kit (I went procharger) and get the full kit with a tune…and enjoy!
