Can't use a pillar because it's an air bag.

I have had 2 cars in the past that had side curtain airbags and aftermarket A pillar pods were airbag approved. It's a misconception a lot of people have.

The side curtain airbags usually aren't on the A pillar, but the top/roofline.

If you remove the a pillar you'll see the air bag behind it. Ok let me say it a different way. You shouldn't put pods there. Don't get me wrong I'd love to mount the gauges I need there but I wont.

For a shift light, I intend to mount a small, very high output, LED in an inconspicuous place.
