I tried to get information out of a local dealer when I was buying my Fusion there earlier this year on how many, what configuration, etc. GT350s they were getting. The guy kept telling me that as soon as he knows he would let me know. I sent a follow-up a few months ago asking what the deal was. Still couldn't tell me what the dealer ordered or anything.

Now they have a GT350 in as of a few weeks ago but still no call. So there was an opportunity there passed up. I put an order in for a Focus RS with a different dealer. That's deal #2 passed up as a result.

It's amazing how myopic some dealers can be out there.

Ya its funny, I guaranteed him 3 sales next year, he said I can't do it.
He said, I treat you fair, I looked at him and grinned.
I said ok fair enough, if needed I will keep my car and sell it in the spring.
I posted it today on local cars sights, got a few interested we will see.
The GM he took over for is now at another dealer, he is trying to get my business
and he knows it, seems short sight to me as well.

Note: I bought 21 vehicles in last 8 years, I also sent them 63 new first time buyers
in that same 8 years. Shit whats the commission on that, I am thinking more than 3500
short sighted is understatement. Storeys you read on this forum alone, from many far and wide are all the same. Greedy, greasy used car sale men mentality.

Ahh I feel better now, LOL

Repeat business, relationships etc. My brother just ordered a Platty from the dealership I'm buying my GT350 from. I'll be ordering a Raptor from them this summer. My daughters will be driving age in a few years and my wife's Exploder may be traded In for an aluminum Expedition.

You know who I won't be doing business with in the future? Damerow Ford. The sales mgr said he'd hook me up with a Shelby when I bought my wife's Explorer Sport last summer. I had tried calling and emailing him for a while. Never got a response from him. They're a $10K ADM dealer....

Hey Randy,

Fellow PDX'er here. I went to Damerow Ford..

They said 20k one day, then I came in another day and the Sales Manager then said 25k.

Seriously.

So I ordered out of state for MSRP on 10/23 last month and never looked back!

**** THAT dealership. :doh::crazy:

May I ask how long did you wait for your boss or shelby if you bought them new through a order?
Sure...

I bought my B302 off the lot... I couldn't believe it lasted on the pot as long as it did... But it did.

The GT500 was ordered as soon as the order banks opened in 2006. Can't really remember the exact duration of wait but I think it was about 3-4 months.

This is the reality of a dealership that has no clue how to work with a $60,000 car and its customer. They are used to selling econocars all day. This is a big hangup for me and the new GT350. We have an ST, and working with the dealerships is absolutely awful. Totally clueless.

are you talking about peoria ford? i told them a while back i was interested and never heard from them. i was also told by sanderson that i was on the list for msrp, then i kept checking and he kept saying didnt know how many, yet i had already ordered mine so i knew they had to know how many if everyone else already did. when i finally wrote sanderson again, he says, i sent out an email 2 months earlier stating we are getting 2 and they are already taken. glad i ordered from another and didnt wait on any of them.

Yeah, that's Peoria Ford.

I have my RS in through Sanderson. Tried to get the GT350 through there in in June but I was just a little too late it seems.

i was told to contact a brian fitzpatrick at sanderson, so i did in feb. i would call about once a month, and each time he kept saying we have no idea how many we are getting, yet everyone on the boards and where i am getting mine from already knew what was going on. in august i still had not heard even though i ordered on june 6, i wanted to see what was up since he said we never charge over msrp, thats when he said we only got 2 and they are spoken for, im like really, thanks for keeping in touch and letting me know.

It's so difficult to find a dealer that both knows what is going on and won't charge you out the nose. It's either one or the other it seems.

I think the hold is so they can reprogram the ECU to not get caught modifying emission controls. Just kidding. Seeing if anyone is paying attention.
