A+ BMR Cradle Lock Out

This modification by BMR is a bullseye. Huge improvement. I installed the Cradle Lock Out and Ford Racing shocks only in rear. Mañana doing fronts. Aligning the cradle is NOT on my list of favorite things to do. :lol: And the rear shocks from Ford are a BIG improvement over the PP Shocks no more of that bouncy bouncy. Thank you BMR for a fabulous product. Well worth the money. Makes me want to drive car again. Have had car for one month today and went WOT for first time today through 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th. Something I noticed this morning that I did not last night is that the BMR Cradle lock Out has raised my rear about 3/8ths of an inch. I had ride height perfect and now this!! Ugh. Now what? Sportlines? I guess I missed in part description that it raises the rear.

well you are putting those circular reinforcements in it that go between the subframe and body, they have a thickness as well

Well the Cradle Lockout helps immensely. Want to keep it. So it looks like coil overs is what it is going to have to be. Ugh more money. The H&R springs are great and drop is perfect but it looks like they will be up for sale and the Ford Racing shocks/Struts as well. Hell I have not even installed the front struts. :frusty:

Glad I read this post. Now I need to decide if I want to install this. My BMR drag springs only lower it .5 in the rear, so it will basically be a wash now. I will be running a 35 series tire, I hope it doesn't give too much of a rake now?

Yea I am kinda pissed nobody mentioned this nor BMR. Maybe I did not see it if so my bad but it would be nice if BMR would state in description of product about this. So now if I get coil overs I can keep the cradle lockout. I do not want to take it off because it does a awesome job. :frusty:

Thanks. Kinda what I thought. Damn I have the CB005 and BMR spings but just havent had time to put them on yet. I didnt realize my rear spring height will be washed out by the kit. Well I guess when i get to that point of installing I'll have a decision.

I am taking the BMR Cradle Lockout kit out and installing the Steeda Subframe braces. For the only reason that it raises the car in the rear. I also have on the way differential bushing kit and subframe alignment kit on the way.

The cradle lockout shouldn't raise the car.

There is likely something causing it, that shouldn't be.

Heck, I just recently shimmed the rear of my cradle down with a .562" spacer and it didn't even change the ride height but about .125".....

I'd like to look into this. With so many hundreds of these in service, this is the first time I've heard of this.

This makes sense. I just did not think of it when ordering.

ForTehNguyen, has a good point. With what he said I would think you would have heard about this problem. For a car owner I do a lot of suspension work. On all my cars and help friends from time to time. With that said I do not have a shop and nowhere near the experience that you do. The only other thing I did was change out rear shocks (Ford Racing) when I did the BMR Cradle Lockout. Suspensions can get tricky so I am hoping you can help out. Because the bottom line is this product works!

I believe the soft rubber bushings in the subfame used to compress under the car's weight. Now the bushings don't compress so the car sits higher. Combined with the stiff black diff inserts I put in, my car now has a raked look as seen in my install thread. I agree these products kick ass against wheel hop. It was lack of understanding on my part to not anticipate the 3/8" increase in rear height.
