BMR Cradle Lock on the Ecoboost

Just got it installed today. Pretty easy install once the car is jacked up and wheels off. It was a PITA to align the cradle hole on the left side because I couldnt get a pry bar short enough to fit in there, so I used a socket wrench. Well being that the socket wrench did fit cause it was short enough, I didnt have enough leverage to easily align the cradle lol. Took a lot of effort but got it done.

Now after everything was aligned correctly, I had an issue with the passenger side 10mm bolt closest to the front of the car. It was not going in because the slot on the cradle support wasnt lining up to the hole on the car. I double checked the previous alignment and they were still fine. Sooo busted out the dremel and made the slot a little longer (not much). Finally that 10mm bolt went in nicely.

After everything was torqued down according to the instructions, slapped on the wheels and lowered off the jacks. It WILL need an alignment. I eyeballed the driver side wheel and it has a slight bit of negative camber. Soo no biggie I was going to do a tire rotation anyway so Ill save some sweat and take it to firestone for both.

Havent driven it yet, I think Ill wait on that opinion until the alignment is corrected.

So in summary so far...

The quality of the kit is top notch and the instructions are good :cheers:
The install was easy for the most part, besides aligning the cradle.
And I cant wait to test it out tomorrow

UPDATE:

Wheel hop is GONE! Did a couple hard launches and none at all. Handling went up a few notches as well. Took it on a few tight turns and everything just felt a lot more stable in the back end. Love it!

As far as the alignment goes, the camber and toe was off. Camber not so much but the toe for some reason was off quite a bit. Not sure if it was somehow my fault or not but who knows.

Overall, a thumbs up job well done BMR!

Centering the cradle affects toe, (think about the geometry for a second ) so no, it's not your fault but the factory's that mounted the cradle off-center.

Ah...got it. Thank you for that! Yea the guys at Firestone came in with their sheet and were like....this isn't right for a new car lol. I explained I changed some things around so I knew it was off. But he got everything aligned , I'll be going back to that tech with any suspension needs. He's very knowledgeable and has restored a couple old stangs as well....cool dude.
