look what I came across. Initially I thought no way, then the facts seemed to back it up.

Thoughts?

All of this speculation seems to come from one statement by the Unifor president, not from anyone from Ford. I just don't see it happening.
Right, but would Ford be up front with new plans for a new engine? Usually everything is done under a bit of secrecy.

Well, maybe the emissions/smog credits for all these electric vehicles will allow the big blocks to make a return. It would simplify production and service not to mention increase reliability without all the electronics and plumbing of smaller forced induction engines.

Likely not. But how would that fit into the plan for the next gen? Ford has to be looking past ICE for the Mustang and I'm not sure why they would develop a new large displacement engine, especially since the Mustang is a global car now and other countries tax engine size.

Specialty market for S650 ford performance vehicles??

Who knows. It does seem that there is something to this, what? I don't know.

It just does not make sense to me but what do I know? Completely different direction than what they have been headed in. Turbos, electric, etc. Maybe Ford somehow figured out a way to make it very fuel efficient or like Tom just said, a specialty performance nitch???? Get it in F series trucks all day long and special order performance Mustangs?

Hey, I'm not preaching the gospel. I came across this video and there seems to be something to it. It specifically states 2022 mustang, which the S650 is a 2023? That makes sense. Could it be the last hurrah for ICE engines? Imagine a twin turbo or a supercharger????

Let's not digress, lol. Most of my hurdles have been overcome. Today I finished my roll cage install.

Someone started another thread this morning on the S550 general forum with exactly the same thing, but they didn't have any video.
Thanks for the video.
I think the only way this 6.8 gets into a Mustang is in some ultra-low production specialty vehicle like a Cobra Jet, as you guys mentioned earlier.

If it was OHC it would need to be no wider than current Coyote engine IMO. The Coyote is tight in the S550 engine bay.....unless Ford builds special notched strut towers.... Boss 6.8 doesn't have the same ring to it as Boss 429 though.
