5w30 engine oil swap now engine making noise

My 2019 came with the 5W 20 cap, living in Florida, I decided to change to 5W 30 Mobil I at the first oil change, and I have not looked back. No tick yet, but I don't think I couldn't hear it anyhow after to many NHRA starting line seats, and shootin' escapades. Oh, my OCD required I change the cap to 5W 30, done!

It makes sense. My mustang sounds like a diesel sometimes in the cold. Ever since I switched it to 5w30 it's been smooth.

VVT can and will make chatter noise when getting old or if the wrong viscosity oil is used during start ups. BUT; I have to say when I switched to Motul 5W-40 I have NO-TIC, BUT; A tic is normally a normal thing for performance engines.

Nope, "IF" it is your VVTs phasers or solenodes which is less likely, they will only be a nuisance until they actually start causing timing issues but then you would get a code telling you so. Their are so many things which can cause ticking, chatter etc which will never cause an issue. But, if it gets to a point to where your thinking about it or worried that something is going to break, then take it to a Ford Dealership and have them verify. If nothing else it would give you piece of mind. But, no one on this forum can tell you without a doubt that what you are hearing will or will not cause a problem. It has to be troubleshot and verified. Good Luck

I have under 6000 miles on a 2021 gt . So far I have no engine tic, what is your guys opinion on adding lique Molly on a engine with no tick as a precaution?

I get that. But if it's not making noise, leave it alone and don't over think stuff. Change your oil as scheduled and enjoy your car.
