I'll be surprised if those last the event :)

Damn good deal, tho! My favorite "economical" tire is the 315 variant of these. Last another 1-2 days and can be picked up for about $1K every once in a while.

I have 315's coming form another supplier. Not as good of a deal, but still, I did great overall. I have another set in Seattle that I have to ship home, but to get the "special" rate, I have to be there to ship them. I'll be there soon enough.

Nice. I am going to need to load up on tires over winter as well. It's good to have a few sets laying around :)

You might want to pick up some of these Jim. Are you 1, 2, or 3 day?

WTH, is that site for real? Most tires are just about half cost compared to Tire Rack :inspect:
Yes, it is for real. Mine were delivered today. These Cup2s are late '16 manufacture, but I can tell they were stored properly. I wouldn't use a tire more than 5 years old for the track.

That site shows the date of manufacture for most of their tires and they guarantee that date.

Edit: and they take paypal, so you are not forking over a credit card number and have paypal buyers protection.

R spec is 305s up front and 315s in the rear. On my R spec wheels, you can run 325s in the rear on an R spec wheel.

I just spent $1600 on a set in October.‍..

Are the tires you got made this year? I did run into an issue that delayed my order with costco because two of the tires I purchased were more than 2 years old.

The ones pictured are late 16 manufacture. 3 years old under proper storage.

Edited to add: I would insist on absolute fresh brand new tires if I was paying full price and knew the car was going to sit with the same keds for a long period of time. Tires these days are generally good for about 10 years under proper care and storage. For a track tire, I use the rule of thumb of 5 years under proper storage. The purpose of these tires are for the track. They will be consumed way before 5 years is up.

I have a brand new set that was mounted to another set of CF wheels. The tire condition and rubber characteristics appear to be identical. Each of us has our own comfort level, and should spend our money accordingly, but I am absolutely cozy taking these tires to the top rated speed of the vehicle for many reasons.... The tires are sound and the person mounting and balancing them knows what he is doing.

I would be more concerned with a tech who doesn't take the time to mount and balance a brand new fresh tire correctly if I knew I was going to the track.
