If the tick/rattle is what I think it is I come from the High performance Duramax world, truck has dynoed over 1100hp. Being a diesel we have had direct injection though it is at much much higher pressures. We have what is known as injector clatter/rattle where you can actually hear the injector solenoids resonating at certain rpm and to me this "rattling" sounds almost exactly like that. On a diesel if you are running high Pulse width and lots of duration which is essentially causing the injectors to really "work" you can hear it like crazy. One thing to note is if people have removed the huge engine cover on the 5.0, it could be heard on the coyote engine a bit more as you don't have something to really absorb the sound. However this is just my theory I could be completely wrong on the subject I was listening to my buddies 5.0 which makes the same sound.
I thought that as a possibility when this ticking first started...Until I added a half bottle of Ceratec, and the ticking was suddenly quieted down. Then, after adding an A/C compressor belt tension arm, the tick has been subdued even more. To me that indicates whatever it was, is definitely internal, and not related to the DI system. Unless oil circulates through the DI injectors to lubricate them, I just don't see how.

Woah woah woah man someone that actually is saying something with some common sense on here? No way it could be the noisy direct injection. You must just be another Ford Fan Boy :) Good to see a fellow Texan on here btw

Well I finally got mine boosted. We made 959 to the wheels on the dyno. Then went out and turned it up even more on the street. Very easily broke the 1000Whp mark.

It's funny too cause all these people been talking crap about how the gen 3 sucks, it's weaker, they're all "exploding" (I only know of 2 blown blocks and both were more than likely due to negligence), too high compression will make them too hard to use with boost (top 5 tuner told me this along with the exploding bs), etc.

Time will tell to disprove all the negative hype, but I think eventually it will be proven that it's just another good platform.

Too many issues with the new 18 and 19 GTs. They make the same sound as my dishwasher when I load too many dishes in it. I think that means it go boom soon. I'm going to get an ugly new Camaro SS instead. Later
