Some of you have asked to see photos of my previous Mustangs. Instead of uploading a bunch of photos to wade through, I thought I'd just make a collage of them all (1999 model not pictured). This collage represents all gens of Mustang except gen 2 (Mustang II). The year models are listed in my signature line at bottom. Here they are ....

Were fox bodies cool looking back then? Whenever I see them I cringe thinking that those were a Mustang generation.

Fox bodies are still cool lol. I still own one (91 notch, wild strawberry)

But I laugh at people who don't like the s550 cause it looks like a fusion then praise the fox. (That looked like the Taurus, tempo etc)

I was a kid when Fox Bodies were being made, and let me tell you, yes, they were the coolest American cars around at the time (I was a touch too young for the GNX).

Some of us still think they're cool. I have a four-eye GT and an aero convertible. I love 'em both.

@mustang#16 - that is a great idea with the collage. Will have to go back and see how many photos I can find of my old (gone but not forgotten) ponies.

Yes, they were cool-looking in the context of the times (most everything was downsizing and boxy back then). Of course, not everyone liked the Fox styling, but a lot of folks did. They were a blast to drive. In the first year of production, sales were 370,000 (compared to 192,500 the previous year). In the 14 years of production, styling got long in the tooth and by 1993, its last year of production, sales had dropped to 114,250.

To me they were always a cheap, light, V8 powered car. Good stuff. :D

Ford is getting away from that philosophy more and more. The Mustang is still relatively inexpensive, but getting bigger with more and more features. I guess most people want that now.

I do remember the first time I saw a TV ad for the 1979 redesign and I was excited about it. But then again I was 12. :)

Thanks! I used Picasa. It's free and super easy to use.

Awesome!

Hey, it's OK to show the picture of your Mustang II. You're among friends. Come on... admit you had one.
