I got the car back and hopefully it's fixed now.
Thanks for the update! Hopefully it's fixed for good. :clap2:

update. the dealership got a reply from the ford hotline and the dealership was told to replace the purge valve. the clutch harness was also replaced. they think it is fixed. dealership is keeping it overnight to see if it has long crank in colder temps (tomorrow AM).
That's a lot of stuff they changed. Let us know how it goes. Best of luck!

I'm taking mine back to the dealer tomorrow morning. Hopefully they can figure it out this time.

Hope everything works out. I'm scared at ordering a ecoboost mustang if its going into the shop with under 500 miles and not getting fixed. Ford really needs to take this seriously and make these cars right. Will be my first ford since my 2004 SVT Lightning, so all this info is starting to worry me.

How long has your car been at the dealer? It sounds like you have been having issues for a while now. Have you looked into the lemon law?

I'm keeping track of all the days my car spends at the dealer and everyone I talk to. If this gets extended out to long, I'm going to call my lawyer to get me a new car. This is ridiculous, I only have 750 miles on the car and I'm having to deal with my car breaking down.

Mine has been at the dealer since 3-3-15 and have not taken possession of the car since. they have replaced the spark plugs on cylinders 3 & 5, Purge Valve, and clutch harness so far. The dealership is currently waiting on a 2nd recommendation from the ford hotline engineer. this will be the 3rd or 4th (not sure how they count attempts) attempt to correct the same issue. I've already started a case file with ford customer service. At this point I'm worried even if they replace my GT 1 for 1, what are the odds it won't happen again since they cannot determine what the cause is. this would mean everything rolling off the factory line today still has the potential of having the same issues.

Update! The dealer was told to change the crank shaft sensor. They changed the part today and I'm still getting a check engine light. The tech is going to call ford again tomorrow to see what they suggest. The tech seemed to think the cause was from using 91 Octane. He suggest that we replace it with 87 Octane.

Let's see what happens. Anyone her using 91 Octane in the Ecoboost?

Moody any news today?

I use 91 octane in my Ecoboost, no issues....
That's what I was telling the dealer. I'm sure a lot of people are using 91 Octane and there not getting misfires. I started a thread on the general forum to see what everyone using. I think there just out of ideas to resolve the problem.

At the moment I drive an 03 Sentra SER Spec V, I've had tons of misfire issues with the car. It was the 2nd year nissan used this engine so they were still working out the bugs. This is the first year of this s550 so unfortunately everyone who has bought a 2015 is kinda a guinea pig. We just have to give Ford sometime to find the issues with the cars as well as time to troubleshoot them. Misfires can be caused by multiple issues. Easy solutions are spark plugs, crank shaft sensors, cam shaft sensors, coil packs, possibly a throttle position sensor if the car has one,etc.... even 02 sensors. Major issues are usually ecu's, piston rings, valve stems etc...

The majority of the issues I've had have been because of bad sensors or bad coil packs. The problem with sensors is one sensor tells another sensor info which tells another sensor info info and that sensor tells the ecu somethings wrong. It sucks right now because most techs aren't going to know how to troubleshoot the s550 properly because they haven't had any experience with them yet. So everthing will probably have to be relayed to the Ford Engineering team.

So don't freak out just yet, everyone drives different, give them time to accumulate data because trouble shooting is very tricky. Once enough people have issues, they'll either be easily fixed or we'll find out these cars are crappy.

All I can add to this thread is I got a P0300 last week on a custom SCT X4 tune. Called the dyno shop, what they suggested is if it happens again, install quality iridium spark plugs and maybe close the gap a bit. I'm on 93 octane.
