Are there any pros cons to 30 vs 35 sidewall?
20"wheel. I think the 30 profile looks better but bigger size of 35 might benefit.thoughts?

I am running 305/35/20 on my car. The extra height is nice because that's where you get the traction benefit. The taller tires will ride better too.

The down side is that the taller tires have reduced my effective gear ratio from 3.31 to 3.18.

What sizes are you considering....what are your goals?

People need to realize 30 and 35 aren't sidewall height, they are aspect ratios. The 30 and 35 figures mean nothing without the associated tire width. A 325/30R19 is the same or slightly taller than a 285/35R19.

It depends on what you're trying to achieve, and if the taller sidewall will improve or negatively impact your effective gear ratio.

305/35-20 will provide a smoother ride, more traction, and make the gearing "longer" when compared to a 305/30-20. Looks will be personal preference, overall the 305/35-20 will be about an inch taller.

If you have 3.73 gears then the 305/35-20 would work great. If you have longer gears, then you may want to run some numbers and compare the two.

I currently have 305 30 20 on rear. I have 3.31 gears. I do not want to negatively effect gear ratio.if anything improve it.

By improve I assume you mean make it more aggressive? If so, I would stick to the size you currently have assuming the tire you want is made in that size.

Stick with the 305/30's then, they are almost the same height as the stock 265/35's.

Please go look at the tire diameters. A 275/35R20 is nearly stock diameter. A 30 aspect is quite a bit smaller.

I was forced to get a 305/30/19 on the rears because Michelin and Continental don't see the need to offer 305/35 or even 305/40 on their latest and greatest and the MPSS were out of stock from everywhere with a reasonable price at that time. It is noticeably shorter than 305/35. Get the 35s if they are available to you. The difference in height is not going to change your gearing enough to make a noticeable difference but it is enough to look odd and not have enough sidewall for straight line traction.

I run 285/35/20 and 315/35/20. Rides smooth despite being lowered and using 20" wheels (light weight ). 30 will ride much harsher. 35 also protects your wheel more.
