Hi. I have a 18Gt mt. With 3.55's. I'm looking for more down low, but I do a lot of highway driving. The consensus is to run 4.09's. But again lots of highway driving. 3.75's would probably be perfect for highway as I feel that the 3.55's are to tall for the highway if I have to keep it under 70 mph. but not much of a difference down low on the 3.75's . I'm thinking 3.90's (3.91). Options are limited on this size. I hear bad things about Richardson. How about motive? Anyone running this gear in a 18+ mt?
Thanks

With the Ford 4.09's higher quality they are usually a drop in and the 6th gear is low enough in the MT82-D4 that I honestly wouldn't bother with anything lower.

Im happy with my stock 3.73's in my 18 pp1. I would go 4.09 if i spent more time in hard acceleration though. My car is stage 2 whippled so i dont feel like i dont have tq.

I dont run a 3.90, but I went with aftermarket wheels and tires a few months back; the change in tire diameter essentially made my gears taller; so i decided to swap out my 3.55 to a 4.09.
The 4.09 in my car is essentially the same as a 3.89 in a 2018 mt on Pirelli 255s.

I absolutely love it.
it took me a few days to get used to it as my brain was so used to certain shift points and feelings, but I quickly felt comfortable. And the car definitely feels quicker.
I don't do a ton of highway driving, but theres no problem on the highway at 75/80 in 6th gear.
