My car is not really broke in yet. Just approaching 2,000 miles. On the long trip with the cruise engaged at 75 mph, with a full load of petrol and running 20" wheels/tires, my car returned about 25 mpg.

This past weekend, I changed the engine oil (first change) and am utilizing full synthetic. it will be interesting to see if the engine delivered better economy with synthetic. Fuel here in FL has increased from $1.64 to $2.04 now (about 20% increase and climbing.) I am loving the increased performance of the engine as it breaks in! I especially like the sport mode for far higher responsiveness.

the GTPP is great.. unless u need to get 24 mpg.. i dont get any way near that, high 16 average, maybe 18 on the highway, well im either going 85 or its stop and go. love LA. turning around 2300 or 2400 rpm at 80. which is much higher than is needed. think my last mustang with the 5 speed and 2.73 was turning 2000 at 80.
get the PP for the brakes (OMG the BRAKES) and better cooling. wheels/tires can be replaced, suspension replaced with the track pack.
or if your not gonna mod it, get the PP, plus i like the gauges in the center dash..

i do think if/when i get a supercharger, ill get lower gears.
But even if i replace the gears, and suspension, wheels/tires, i still would have gotten the PP. well thats just me, but ive had mustanitis for 20 years.

Just driving from Detroit to Grand Rapids. Set the cruise at 70 and zone out.

Measured at the pump when I arrived and the actual mpg was just over 26.
You must drive like there's an egg under your pedal. Very impressive; bet riding with you is smooooooth.

I averaged 21.5 for the maiden voyage this weekend. 900 miles from Baltimore to Florida.

Mostly had cruise set at 80, but had stop/go traffic for the first few hours of the trip. I'd say I ran from 80-90 for most of the trip after the initial jam up.

I managed to get some spirited driving in. The rev limiter in 5th came real quick when I wasn't paying attention in a sprint. Shifting to 6th and was nailing 130 effortlessly. Triple digits happen fast for sure.

Running at 70+ it's not even necessary to downshift to get speed to pass. The car will pull pretty quick into the power band. Dropping into 4th or 5th, and it's a hell yeah moment.

Previous Fox Mustangs I owned had the 2.73 and 3.27 rears. The former was nothing but exhaust and chipped. The latter was a Saleen SSC package with 10# Vortech boost and 475 hp to the rear wheels.

Both of those cars were 5 speeds, and 5th was a dog unless you were already getting the RPMs up. The Saleen I had up to 175 once and still had RPM like she wanted to go higher. I was too scared I'd blow a tire or something and backed off.

Amazingly, both cars would get 26 mpg if I kept my foot out of it.

I always thought 3.55 would be perfect and any more would be a waste for a street car. I'd say I'm converted. The 3.73 have me on a learning curve in the lower ranges and trying to ease into smooth gear changes at casual driving. But I'm enjoying the quick acceleration!
