My 2013 3.7L MT82 was 10x better than my 2016 GTPP MT82. I've done all the tranny mods except replace the the shifter, it's junk
If your drove a car with a tremec magnum you'd really see how true your statement is.

what cracks me up is how much easier this car is to shift smoothly when you are driving like youre racing. when i baby it i look like an idiot being all jerky but when i get on it like a maniac i shift smooth as butter

I have had the car for just over a week and experienced similar behaviour when shifting 1-2 in normal inner city driving. I have noticed that things get better if you wait for the revs to drop before shifting into second gear - in my experience it is the rev hang mechanism Ford have introduced in these cars. Its probably a good thing for shifting in high revs but quite annoying for daily drive - It takes 1-2 seconds for the revs to drop but if you wait, i should be smooth.

Does anyone know if the rev hang can be turned off?

My shifting has gotten much better since starting this thread and I contribute it to driving more miles, a Steeda clutch spring and Roush axle back exhaust.

Try shifting 1st to second around 3k-3300 RPMs, that seems to be the sweet spot in my car for a smooth gear shift. You can get rid of the rev hang with a tune but that then voids your warranty....
