Any specific reason you’re after 285/40? That’s kind of a tall tire vs the more common 285/35 for 19x10 inch wheels.

I’ve seen other members have 285/35 20 which is about the same size as a 285/40 19 and i guess they’re ok. No personal experience though.

also be sure you’re after the A/S4 not the PS4S if you want all season.

yeah the only 285/19 in the a/s p/s 4 is a 40 ratio according to the Michelin website

Ah yeah.... I forgot they had limited sizing for the first year of that tire. Last I looked they are supposed to release more sizes in June/July this year. I’m hoping for a 255/40 19 for my non summer wheels.

If you're stock ride height, they should be OK. I think I'd be looking at the A/S3+ in 285/35-19 to be on the safe side.

Bump.

Anybody know when the AS4 will be available in 285/35/19 103Y XL ?

I keep getting the runaround. Tire Discount website says December 2021, but when I contact Michelin directly I'm told they don't know when.

I have the Base GT and I'm at stock height, so I'm assuming worst case scenario I could just run 285/40/19? I'm buying new SVE wheels and thinking 19x10 all around.

I would do the 275/40 then, no need to go extra wide on an all-season.

Yeah I mean 275 vs 285 isn't much difference anyway, but if those 10mm would net me a little extra dry traction which is already at a loss in the cold weather it might be worth trying to fit it. Could be so minimal it wouldn't be felt though.

Narrower is better. More psi into the road surface. You're kidding yourself that 10mm is going to make any difference let alone when doing street duty. If traction in the cold is a problem wait for your tires to get some heat into them first or better yet buy winter tires.

Narrower is better for ... rain? snow? I want more dry traction .. that's why we go wider isn't it?

Anyway, yes fair points on warming up the tires and that 10mm is probably not noticeable.

Indeed I really like the Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus 275/40/19 I just installed.

I am running a squared set of 19x10’s, SVE S350’s with 275/40-19 Conti Ex Contact Sports on my 18 PP1 GT convertible with no issues. They do look a little stretched on the 10” wide wheels though. Very satisfied with grip and performance though. Plus they are about 30% cheaper than the Michelin’s. Next set I will try the 285/35’s to better square up on the rim and fill out the wheel well. added bonus is they are 3lbs lighter per tire over the 275/40’s.

I went with the 275/40/19 on SVE R350 ... the uncertainty of 10mm plus the weather not getting better wasn't worth the hassle.

Jinx lol we replied same exact time. That's interesting, on my SVE X500 19x10, Michelin AS3+ 265/35/19 was just a touch stretched if I remember right .. and the Michelin PS4S 275/35/19 is a perfect fit.

I don't think the aspect ratio is gonna make 275/40 a bad fit for me, we'll see though.

I heard the Michelins offer better dry performance than the Contact Sports so thats why I went with that. If the road conditions arent good I just slow down, it's already unpredictable enough with other drivers lol.
