Would you say mlo's pic above of 285 conti look stretched?
The front wasn't the issue. It was the rears. With a properly sized tire the rim surface was behind the line of the tire. When I had the 285 DSW06's the rim surface was past the tire and that was discomforting.

What size did you have? A 305/35 shouldn't be stretched compared to a 315/30.

The 285's on the 19x10.5 will fit on the wheel but will have some stretch to them. Not sure why they told you they wouldn't fit. As far as the handling package springs the only difference I can see is if your non handling package car doesn't have magneride. I know the magneride and non magneride springs are sold separately.

That previous pic has 295/35 on the rear wheels, I wouldn't recommend a 285 tire on an 11-inch rim.

With all of this info I feel so much better about getting new tires for my new to me mach 1. Are there any specific tires that you guys recommend? I've seen like 4 different ones but I am coming from a scat pack challenger and tires were easy with that compared to the mach 1 with this handling package

Michelin Pilot Sport 4s (ps4s) are university loved. Continental extreme sport 2s also get a lot of praise.

Keep in mind though, that neither of those are available 305/35-19.

...Weirdly I just saw this Shelby in my work parking lot with Michelin Super Sport 295/35 fronts and 305/35 rears. Not sure the width of those rims, but they are stretched a little.

With that knowledge is there a solid "cold weather" tire that is regularly available that won't fall apart with the colder temps. I would never drive in the snow but driving to and from work in the north east can get really cold. I apologize to those in the group more versed in this but I am trying to soak up as much as possible.

Ok that changes things a lot. The two previous tires I mentioned are summer tires and not recommended for temps below 50 degrees.

I would go with an All Season Michelin or Continental.

I know it means nothing but our Porsche came with 315 on an 11.5" wheel and I feel that it's a bit too tight, so when these burn off, I'll step it up to a 325. I went to 325 on the Mach (HP) wheel and I get it, engineers and yadda yadda, but I feel that it's a better fit (no pun) on the wheel and for the vehicle for my driving style. Plus it's fat sexy!

I can look at the car and tell 315x30 are on the rear wheels. My car has the discontinued cup2 315x35.

So weighing the options now I can find 305x35 .

The Dakotas called. They would like to help you recalibrate your notion of outside of Philly being "cold".

Conti dws06 is a lovely tire as is re980as. The cooper g1 and general gmax are ok in cold but DRY.

Spend quality time on tirerack.com. any of the top 7 or so tires in the categories will be more than good enough.
