Hey Chameleon, are you rolling in Stock Gt or Pp Rims?
Stock GT sadly. I have some other things ahead of wheels but hopefully April. :frusty:

I was just in the same decisive status as you, and I went with the BFGoodrich Comp-2's. Don't have them yet since they take about a month to deliver. But since the Comp-3's are out, these tires are selling cheap and from tire racks reviews and ratings, can't go wrong with it. Every time I did a tire search, those always came out on top.

I went with a 275/35/20 squared set up. I'm going to lower it as well. Wish I had pictures for you, but it's going to be a month an a half before I get everything (and next week is when I'm supposed to be getting my car).

Plus, the 275/35/20's are close to the stock OD.

At the end of the day it also has to do with price, so for instance he wants to keep it under 225 a tire, unless we go with a different brand the 285/35/19 M/T fit that price range the other ones are a bit more then the desired price he wants.

You can get your car recalibrated to correct that if it bugs you. it costs 1 hour worth of labor at the Dealership and they get that taken care of.

Really? Good to know. I might ask about it next time I am there. Thanks!

What is the ideal tire diameter for 3.73 gears? I'm also debating between 285/35r19 vs 275/40r19 squared.
Ohhhh good point. didn't think about the gearing difference.

Anybody wanna do the math for me???

Let's, say you have a Non-PP GT with optional 3.55 gears, and optional 19x9" squared wheels, with the factory 255/40r19 all around (27" tire diamter). That will be the starting point. Now, lets compare that to a Performance Package GT. You now have 19x9.5" rears with 275/40r19 tires (27.7") and 3.73 gears.

If we assume that the starting point is 3.55 gears, with a 27" diameter tire, wouldn't going to 3.73 gears AND adding almost an inch of tire diameter negate the effective gear ratio?

If the wheel diamter stayed the same from non-PP to PP, you have the full extra difference in gearing between 3.55 to 3.73.

Example: Performance Package actually has an effective ratio of 3.65 gears;

Now here is an example of effective gearing on 285/35r19 tires;

OP, I'm considering a 285/40/19 square setup or 285/35/20 square. MRR FS 01 10 inch rims...

Issue with 275 square is I'd like more front tire.
My worry with the 40 sidewall is it might look funny up front as kbreese mentioned. The situation will be worse with 285/40/19 as the sidewall will be thicker than the 275/40.
The 20 inch looks amazing on the Stang with a 35 sidewall but will ride rougher. Diameter of wheel and tire will be close to stock PP rear which is good. This is my top choice and weight penalty over 285/40/19 is next to nothing once you add wheel and tire.

It's all tradeoffs.
I toyed with 285/35/19 but dropped it for a lot of reasons. Ugly wheel gap and lowered car all things equal as diameter is 26.9 inch as opposed to 27.8 inch with 275/40/19. To remove gap you need to further lower the car. To me all this lowering is not worth it - driving in the city, gas stations, driveway etc becomes a major PITA. Also, makes gearing of PP even shorter.
