Best Tire for 19x10 squared? 285/35 or 275/40?

I've seen a few posts on this but no explanation of why one size is better than the other.
Most people with 19x10 squared seem to go with 285/35 regardless of stock ride height or on lowering springs,
but I've seen a few running 275/40 which has a "fuller" look that fills the wheel well more.

Are there any performance benefits or other upsides to the more popular 285/35 vs. 275/40?
Does one tire handle better than the other on 19x10? Strictly visual preferences in sidewall? Availability/price in one tire size than the other?
With proper offset, both tires seem to fit great with zero rub whether lowered or not and both setups slightly throw off the speedometer so that's a wash.

I can't decide which tires are best to run once I get my 19x10 wheels.

Thanks in advance,

I chose 275/40 for the extra sidewall height to maintain ride comfort. Steering input difference is negligable. After that just comes down to choice.

Nice, looks great from the side, the magneride sits slightly lower than stock gap which works to your benefit. Is there any poke or pretty flush all around?

nice! any particular reason you guys went with the 275/40 over the 285/35? What were the deciding factors?

Ride quality and nice wheel gap.
285 seems too small.

Same here. Plus only had to purchase 2 new fronts vs 4. May do something different when these need replacing.

I had 275/40 on my old wheels (top) and now have 285/35 on my new wheels (bottom). BMR minimum drop springs. The 275/40s do fill the wheel gap better. I don't notice much difference in ride quality.

285/35s here.

Just depends on if you want a front tire that’s too tall, or a rear tire that’s a little short :)

I'm guessing both set ups threw off the speedometer just a bit?
