So, my car was built on 9/28 and shipped on 9/29, got ETA from 10-12 to 10-18. Last weekend I found this link from this form ( OVISS - Login (unitedroadlogistics.com) ) and there it says my car is at a railyard about an hour from the dealership and the status shown is Inactive. I contacted my dealer about where the car and they said it's at Blue Island, IL but the ETA is still the same. I am kind of confused about what's going on here. Am I reading the OVISS wrong, or the dealer is getting the wrong information?

Today I had the conversation with the director of Ford Belgium. First of all he told me that it is absolutely not normal that an order is unplanned for 9 months and that the order never made it from Europe to the USA. So I would have continued to wait weeks and months for a car that will never be built.

He has now taken on the matter and is trying to get it built as MY22, alternatively then as MY23. Provided he still gets a slot for production 22, the car would be built in the next few days and weeks.

In the case where it becomes a MY23, it will be built within the first week of December.

In any case, he guaranteed that I will have the Mustang by the end of January.
I'm happy to hear this, I hope he has the means to punish the dealer who made you wait that long.

Should I worry that the dealer I ordered my car from has a Mach 1 showing with handling package and rear seat delete showing in online inventory that has green window sticker? My car is supposed to be built week 10/24. I don't want any funny business with car getting sold out from under me or price gouging. Anyone work with Ted Britt in Fairfax, VA? Mine is a heavily optioned 22 which I would hope would be a hard car for them to sell at the end of the year. just getting nervous and don't want to have Lucy pull the football if you know what I mean.

I don't think it's automatic - but I think it's an option that most dealers opt in on because it shows them having more inventory than they actually do.

Mine hasn't shown up on my dealer's inventory even though it's definitely in route to the dealership.

Definitely a per dealer situation. Dealer I went through has in transit vehicles on their inventory site, however my car never showed up on their site.

you're assuming Ford's data-feed isn't just "randomly" losing customer vehicles. Given their demonstrated competence I'm more inclined to believe there's something wrong with the feed, rather than the dealer has instructed Ford to mask off custom orders.

Ok ok, maybe this is the ONE place where Ford IT actually works correctly...

LOL ok - let's break it down.

My order tracker shows this:

My sales Rep has called and said it arrived at the railyard over the weekend - so it's confirmed in two places as the same information...

Yet my mustang isn't listed on dealer site despite the fact that there are some "in transit" mustangs listed there as you can see here:

I'm inclined to think there's an "opt in" or "opt out" checkbox when it comes to displaying factory ordered vehicles.

It's literally the easiest explanation here lol.

I finally spoke to my dealer yesterday and he said you would have to sign a release/decline the car in order for them to sell it out from under you.

My situation is that I have two cars on the way; one ordered correctly and one that wasn’t. I was concerned they’d sell the correct car and leave me with the other, which was why I asked how all that works for peace of mind. Ideally, that’s a standard across all dealerships!

Both of my cars are marked as shipped on my tracker and appear on my dealer’s website. You can always compare the VINs to confirm since the window sticker should be available on the dealer’s listing.

9 days, 4 hours since officially moving to Built.

Only a freaking 7 hour direct truck ride to dealership left.

Car has still not left Michigan.

Now 7 months since I placed my order. Will be 8 before I receive most likely.

This is so mentally exhausting. Excitement left me months ago. I feel like finally picking her up is going to feel like returning home from a war I lost.

Supposed ETA is 10/19 - 10/26. Blend date was 9/1. Long story short, don’t get excited about your blend date… or your built date… or really anything besides sticking your key in the damn ignition at dealership.

If I wanted to get fckd for 8 months I could’ve just gotten a new girlfriend, she would’ve been a lot cheaper than sixty freaking thousand dollars.
