2023 GT500

I believe they only had plans to build around 1,500 Raptor R's in the first model year. How many GT500s have they been averaging a year? 1,500 plus a few crate engines is probably just enough to keep the niche line going for another year or two.

They did around 5k in ‘20, and a little less in ‘21 (based upon owner reported chassis #’s). I’m hearing probably 2-3k this year then the GT500 stops for this generation. Take it with a grain of salt (More like a pound at this point.) No one really knows, just rumors everywhere. I don’t even think Ford knows

Nobody needs a gt500. Sure, the overwhelming majority of them are driven in a responsible manner but we can’t risk it any longer. Won’t you think of the children? The streets just aren’t safe with “ghost” gt500’s potentially running around at night

I spoke to a factory rep yesterday. In terms of hierarchy, he's low but connected to the factory.

He's said yes to 2023 GT500 and has heard no word of them stopping for 2022. Also if they were not producing them for 23 MY, he'd know by now.

So pretty safe to assume there will be a 2023 GT500 but it could change.

this is absolutely news to most of us. everything so far has pointed in the direction of no 23 MY s550 gt500. I'm going to continue to believe 22 is it until definitive info is given.

Couldn't they assign '22 vins and roll on? I know a person that got their '21 the first of this year. Which would suck but beats nothing at all.

Funny you mention that. Today Jim Owens did a Q&A at the Carlisle Ford Nationals & stated that in the US it is illegal to build a ‘22 model year VIN car in ‘23. His example was can’t have same model year car built in same month of 2 separate years. (for example two years’ Januarys)

I don’t know the laws but this doesn’t sound right. I’m 2014, they stayed building 2015’s in august or September and was building 2015’s in august and September of 2015 still. A few months overlapped.

Once the VIN is issued it really doesn't matter when the car is built. Back in the 1980's Shelby American found some issued VINS and built the cars as original 1960's Cobras.

Yeah. First they quit making cars for the US market and now they're trying to push us all into electric vehicles come hell or high water.

I was in Europe (Italy, Germany, UK) for all of June and there were plenty of gas and diesel powered Ford cars everywhere. Why is it just the US that is getting shafted this way?
